thanks for the congrats, everyone! i've been lurking in this topic even before i was pregnant, because i love seeing the new baby photos!

savanphil---yes, this is our first baby too! it's soo exciting!

shayrene--it looks like you are due a month before me--so you can let me know what i'm getting into, lol.

evaline--hope your baby comes soon!!! how exciting!

my ultrasound today went well. the baby was very active. at one point, we say the little fists clenched and raised---my husband thinks it looks like a boy because of that pose. it's too soon to know, of course. but it was awesome to see the baby and hear the heartbeat---it seems so much more real now.

@Wasino, I'm glad to see that your ultrasound went so good. I loved going to ultrasound appointments and couldn't sleep days before that, haha.

Baby is still not there. I have another doctors appointment today and I guess we'll talk about induction etc. I'm wondering if he is somehow stuck in there and just can't drop down or whatever. I'm frustrated because I'm trying everything to get labor started, I walk a lot, run up and down stairs, eat hot and spicy food, make my husband "work", take warm baths etc etc etc but apparently that only works if baby read the manuals too. I just wish they would do another ultrasound to see if there is something not right with the way he is positioned.

Well ladies I have my first OB appt. today, I hope they can give me a due date..I'm dying to put up my ticker. According to our records  ...I should be about 13wks...but my Gyn estimated 6-8 from the blood test. So I guess we'll see.

Wasino- I know it is very exciting, at first I was really scared...but now I am so excited. I even browse the baby aisle in stores now (which I used to AVOID at all cost)

Eveline- I hope baby shows up soon.

Well Wasino, I went to the doctor yesterday and they moved my due date to August 25. I will update my sticker. I think that they take a good guess at your due date based on science. However, the baby has his own mind. S/he will come early, late, or right on time.

The doctor's appointments are very routine. It is almost like why do I come each month. But it is nice to hear the heart beat. It also gets me all excited.

I am already showing, but trying to hide my little stomach. I haven't told my staff at work yet. My supervisors know though. I am having a staff meeting next week to let them know. They should have guessed it anyway. My skin is breaking out (always had clear skin) and I have gained weight. Also, my friends say I have a glow. Whatever that means. Ha Ha Ha!

Eveline, my doctor waits 2 weeks after the due date before she will induce. Here's hoping that your baby comes on his own and your wait ends soon.

Savanphil, I am 14 weeks pregnant. I have 26 weeks to go. (this is after they adjusted my due date, I have to update my sticker wich says 24 weeks to go to birth). I told my supervisor early because of work related reasons. I would have waited until my 1st trimester was over. I had to tell all my family and friends because we were suppose to have a big wedding on May 12 and people were asking me about the details and hotels, etc.

Also, I think it is important for close family to know. I think the support and prayer for you and the baby is well worth it. A friend of mine was pregnant last year and had a miscarriage. I had no idea because she wasn't telling anyone. She got pregnant again right away and told people. We were able to support her, pray for her, and it allowed the people of her job to be less demanding of her. She is due on March 8 and I can't wait to see the baby.

Your little guy is a cutie too! I love his skin tone....hopefully my little one gets her Daddys coloring and not the pasty Irish white from her Momma! LOL! Isn't it funny how they can look like both of you at the same time. I see her Daddy in her and he sees me!

Oh how cute these pictures are. Soon, I can take pics like those too...

Eveline, I'm so sorry you're still hanging around. I can imagine how frustrating it must be. Hopefully it won't be too much longer.

Here's my announcement for today. I'm gonna be induced tonight or tomorrow morning. They want me to call in the labor & Delivery unit tonight at six and then they'll tell me if a bed is available (they are all busy today) and we're going in. I'm all excited and although I never wanted to be induced I'm glad that finally things are happening and I don't have to sit and wait anymore at 41 weeks only 1 cm dilated and 25% effaced. Wish me luck...

I found out earlier this week from my mom that my sis-in-law is pregnant...

I burst into tears when my mom told me......

they have been trying for over a year now and after what happened, I had been dreading this announcement...

My mom wasn't sure if I knew because my sis-in-law had said she would tell me but she never did.... they didn't want to tell anyone till they flew 1000 miles to tell my Grandma in person....

I still haven't heard from my sis-in-law.... I don't know if I should email her or what.... I am sure my mom told her that she told me the news (I just hope she didn't tell her my reaction  )

I had wanted to give my parents their first grandchild and I told my mom this and she said Noah will always be their first grandchild... I do know this but they never got to hold him or anything... they did get to see him before he died though which was good....

I guess I just need to suck it up and be happy for them...

sorry to be a downer.....

Oops, just wanted to add congrats on all the new arrivals (F)

I just found out from my mom that my sis-in-law's tentative due date is October 5th.... That is the day my little Noah was born.... :crying:

she hasn't had her ultrasound yet so that might change but her due date will still be around that same time...

I was also thinking that if her due date is around then that means she is less then 2 months pregnant... I think that is a little early to be telling people... and my mom said she was already buying material and stuff to decorate the nursery....

I still haven't heard from her but my mom said she is scared to talk to me and doesn't know what to say....

I am not sure what to do... we are going up to Canada in about 2 weeks and my sis-in-law is picking us up from the airport.... it might be a little awkward.....

Okay, here goes my first OB appt. he took a urine sample, did a pap smear, and we talked for a while about played question and answer, he gave me my (due date)..which I still think is off, but I will have a better idea when I go for my ultrasound. Lastly they took blood and gave me a bag full of mom-to-be goodies (mostly samples and advertisements).

Most importantly I HEARD MY BABY'S HEART BEATING (L) (L) it was a fast swishing sound...I can't beleive it. MY baby has its own heart and its beating, the miracle of life is amazing!!

Irisheyes- Your baby is absolutely adorable...What a great pic of baby and daddy...Congratulations you have a beautiful family (F)

Eveline - Wow, your little guy will be here sooner that you know it. Good luck tonight/tomorrow, best wishes for a happy healthy delivery. (F)

Eveline-Hope everything goes smoothly for you!

Marylin-I'm sure it must be very hard to hear about your sis in law. But if I were you, I would get in touch with your sis in law and congratulate her ASAP so that by the time you go, you will have already talked to her. It will make everything less awkward for you and for her. That's what I would do, to get it over with. You had said they had been trying over a year to get pregnant, so imagine that she might have been jealous and upset when she found out you were pregnant around a year ago. I am sure she doesn't want you to feel bad. Try to be happy for her, even though it might be very hard. I haven't experienced it yet, but I'm sure when someone wants to be pregnant, finding out that you are would be such an exciting thing. You know how that feels, so imagine how she would be feeling right now and how you will feel when you get pregnant again(hopefully in the near future! :) ). Try to think about that when you do talk to her whether it's before the trip or on the trip. *hugs*

Savanphil-Very exciting!!

thats the thing she wasn't jealous really..... she was happy she told me because now my dad would be off their backs..... he really wanted a grandchild and I guess he pestered them about it....

I have known her for along time and she always told me she didn't want to have kids.... her and my brother kind of have a rocky relationship, although my mom said it is getting better... I have a feeling they thought a kid might help things or something.....

I know this might sound bad but I don't think I can be happy for them right now.... maybe I am being selfish but I am still not over my loss but I guess I will just have to pretend or something...
