I am so sorry Canadalaura. I know how disappointed you and your husband must be.

I had some bleeding last night and went to the doctor this morning. She said everything is fine. But I was very nervous beforehand. I am only 13 weeks. I shed more than a few tears last night. But my husband was so supportive. This morning I saw the baby moving all the time. S/he is fine.

You saw the baby moving already or did you have an ultrasound done? 13 weeks is a little early to see it moving, right?

@Keltic: I hope your body will adapt to the medication soon. Hang in there...you are almost done. All the best.

Hi everyone. My little prince arrived on Sunday at 4:44 am. The evening before I had some fluid leaking while I was on the phone with hubby and he told me to call my doctor but I was so nervous and scared. I paged my doctor and she told me to get to the hospital so they can check me out. I went to the hospital and they told me that the amniotic fluid was leaking and it was dangerous for the baby. I wasn't having any contractions or pain so they put me on Oxytocin to induce the labor. Meanwhile Hubby was looking for a plane ticket and it looked like he would be with me but then he couldn't get to the airport on time. His flight was set to depart in 30 minutes and we live about an hour away from the airport. The only other flight was for the next morning. I started feeling the pain soon after induction and I refused any meds but then the contractions were getting stronger and frequent so I opted to get meds through IV and that helped A LITTLE BIT. At one point they stopped the meds because the baby's heartbeat kept dropping so I felt LOTS of pain. They had to put an oxygen mask on me so the baby could get enough air. At about 3 am I broke down and begged them to give me an epidural but they told me it was too late and I started crying because I didn't think I could make it. At 4 am I was instructed to start pushing and it was so difficult and the head kept coming out and going back. Finally they had to cut me and then use suctioning to get him out and when they got him out they realized that his cord was wrapped around his neck. He didn't cry immediately and they had to have someone come in right away to get him to cry. I was in so much pain I was happy to get things moving along but I was sooooo sad that hubby missed it. It's kind of depressing me that he wasn't there. We had to call him at the airport and tell him his son was born. I'm looking at the bright side of things which is: If the fluid hadn't started leaking I would have never gone to the hospital and with the cord wrapped around the baby's neck I fear what news I would have gotten at my next appointment. That just shows that everything happens for a reason. I told hubby that his son is just like him...when he is determined to do something then nothing gets in his way. He wanted to come out on February 11th and that's exactly what he did.

Being a mommy is great and while waking up to feed and change diapers isn't thrilling, seeing his little face brightens things up. I will post pics as soon as I can. Good luck to everyone else out there! Sorry if my post is kind of hard to understand I have to get back and check on him!

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW BABY BOY Nizzy. Your post isn't hard to understand at all. I'm so happy for you and that he is ok. Don't feel sorry about your husband not being there. This was nature taking over...there was nothing you could have done to make him be there earlier.

I envy you for having your little one there already. I'm still sitting here, feeling like the "mothership" and nothing is moving at all. Maybe he will go all German on me and be just on time....

Yes, I had an ultrasound. It is not too early. The baby has arms, legs, feet, hands, etc. S/he wouldn't keep still. My nurse practitioner would not move the ultrasound machine around and you could see her moving her/his arms around and swimming. Very cool. It is too early to see the sex of the baby, but I have pictures of my little one now.

Congratulations Nizzy on your new baby!

First of all, congrats Nizzy.....I'm glad your little prince arrived safely.

Our little girl Rachel Erin arrived on Thursday evening at 4:51. We started inducing labor at 8:45 Wed evening, but it didn't get tough until my water broke at 3:30am. I gave in and got the epidural after hours of strong contractions all on top of each other and thank God I did!!! She was born by forceps after turning sideways. I didn't feel a thing LOL! We had some trouble with the placenta as it had attached itself to some scar tissue I had after a D&C from a few years ago. My doc had to go in and get it to avoid a surgery and believe me, epidural or no, I felt that. I had some extensive repair work done so needless to say I'm really sore at the moment.

We came home today and Rachel is doing great. She's an angel. She weighed in at a petite 6lb 5oz and measured in at 20.25in. We are both head over heels and I'll post photos as soon as I can!

Eveline, I hope you go soon, if you hadn't already....Don't worry about the birth, it's natural you'll be nervous but it's really not too bad and sooo worth the effort! Go with your body, it'll let you know what to do!
