Well, it took me awhile to get this post up here, but here are the details from our Father's Day trip to the Granby Zoo.

Headed out early in the morning. The zoo is only about 2 hours from me. Spent the whole day there, and we were very impressed. The animals were broken down into 4 sections: Asia, Oceania, South America and Africa. My personal favorite was the Australia section. It was a gated enclosure that you could walk through. There were many wallabies and a few gray kangaroos, just hopping around, across the path right in front of you! Declan's favorite animals were the tigers and the flamingos. We also rode a few rides in the amusement park, and hubby and I took turns floating down the lazy river in the waterpark. It was such a great weekend getaway and just what we needed!

The next day, we took a leisurely drive back home, stopped in Magog to walk around a bit and have lunch. The weekend helped decrease our stress level so much!

Hopefully this link to the pics works. Let me know if it won't let you access them.

BTW, the llama pics are totally for Nev!

Awww so cute! I have so many fond memories of the Granby Zoo and Magog, growing up in that area! Isn't Magog absolutely beautiful? Looks like your little one really enjoyed himself :)

Those are great pics, Autumn. Looks like a very nice clean place. My former BIL's parents live in Granby. His father is a painter and has an art studio there. Haven't seen them in years. Funny how certain words and places bring back memories.

Yes, it's in Quebec.

What happened, E?

Ah yer typical, refusing to speak english, getting lost, having all the streets start with "rue de... blah blah blah", but the top of the iceberg was that it was a snow storm, the streets were clogged with snow, he was up all night and he was getting confused with all the one way streets and turned onto what he thought was a one way, and it was a 2 way and almost side swiped a Fit/Mini (or some such little car), and the lady literally jumped out of her car came right up to our window and screamed obscenities (in french) at him.. (which probably included stupid yankee) He looked at me as she was yelling at him and said "never.. NEVER again will I come to this forsaken province"..

It's so European, isn't it?

Oh don't tell hubby that.. I have convinced him that someday we'll travel to Europe (it's one of the last places on earth he's yet to visit) He'll never go if he thinks it will be like our time in Montreal!

I had nearly the same experience, sans the driving. Add in a riot downtown, and a police officer purposely giving us the opposite directions to our hotel and you've summarized my experience. I had been to Montreal a few times in the past and had nothing but good experiences. But after the last trip, only way i'll go back is if i'm tied up in the boot of someones car
