I am currently serving in the United States Air Force and my wife and I are still waiting on her visa approval to enter the USA. Is there anything that can be done to include her in the military umbrella aka DEERs? I looked in all the forums to search this up and found an article for military but it said that the wives are already down here living with them in the USA and they were able to use their visas to get their military IDs. I am wondering if my options are truly limited because I have to wait till my wife is physically here in the US or wait for her to get a visa.

No you will have to wait until she gets here. I used to install the deers systems and I learned a lot. You will need to basicly process your wife. You can add her but she needs to be here. You will need to be married first and you will have to bring your Marriage Contract. Make sure she has two forms of ID also. I think she may need her birth cert also. YOu will need to go thru the process with her, tricare, fiance etc...just give yourself a good day to do this. She has to be in the DEERS system first before getting tri care, so getting her Dependant card should be first

any other questions just ask me

We are married as of April 30th. Well since she needs to be down here then we will have to wait it out.. But the military should backdate the BAH for us wouldnt they? Key West dependent BAH is like 2100+ i think for E5s. That extra dinero will definately help.
