Iam not sure if there is already a topic about this..but anyway, I just want to share mine.

A long distance relationship is really hard and a constant communication with my fiance really helps me to survive for 6 years.

1. We talk every weekend/holidays on chat (I always make sure I dont have a schedule in the afternoon).

2. I call him everyday to wake him up. We chat on phone while he`s driving to work.

3. He calls me everyday after he leaves work and while driving on his way home.

4. We send each other text messages in the evening before he goes to bed or when I/he is out of the house (party, malls, school, etc.)

5. For 4 years we sent each other emails tons. We stop now because we prefer communications on phone.

6. I even communicate with him even while he`s sleeping. He just leaves his webcam open so I can watch/hear (love to hear his snores, makes me fall asleep) him while he`s sleeping and he does the same thing while I`m sleeping.

He`s always telling me that he talks to me more than he does with his family. Haha. I believe him. I know it is so expensive to make all the calls but hearing each other`s voice helps us to feel that there`s not much distance between us. It shouldn`t be talking about different/new topics because we usually run out of those, but we`re always reminding how much we love/miss and care for each other. What really matters is the happiness that we feel every time we hear/see (webcam) each other for as often as we can.

Well, hope to hear from you guys. :)

My hubby and I would talk almost everyday twice , morning and night , thru YM , I have a webcam so he can see me everytime if he wont be online say , he will go out to store or appointment with his doctor , he would send me emails ;

I would call him thru globe tipid card , cheaper than pldt budget card , I used to call him thru pldt ; he would call me too , he is using AT&T .

I would send him cards and he would send me cards too . parang ala , gusto lang maski walang okasyon.

Let them buy the Sun International Sim, it's only P1/text for US and some other countries. They can call you anytime and it will only cost them less than P5/min. As for the PLDT budget card, anytime lang din. I'm not sure if it's P3 or P4/min call.

Hello!

u can use it 24/7 hehehe..tell them to buy the sim (Sun International Prepaid Sim) at sun business center or in any authorized agents...and no joke piso lang talaga txt sa US, canada and in some countries. saka un nga less than 5pesos lang ang calls. ung PLDT budget card 100peso sya and 3pesos/minute lang. ung globe tipIDD card naman is 2.50pesos/minute but round off na sya agad to a minute kahit ilan seconds lang nagamit unlike sa PLDT budget card, ifafraction ung 3pesos sa seconds used...

hope this helped RonMay

we talk morning and night on YM. husband doesnt know how to text :blush: if computer connections are bad, we talk using magicjack.

Hello guys,,

My husband and I send messages everyday. I have my cell number connected to yahoo messenger and he can just send me a message from his computer. Free for him but it costs me 2.50 pesos per text. When we text long, we spend 500 for just 2 weeks. That is already very expensive for me. LOL!!! When he is not working, he just stays home or working at home and that is the time when we can video chat, when I'm free.

I used to have smartbro usb modem, but It didnt work!! I am staying in my in laws' place in Pampanga so I have now access to internet, so we now can talk as much as possible. Im looking forward for a connetion in my room sooner. Yippie!

But internet here in this part of Pampanga is poor. We usually have bad connection everytime we talk on messenger. My husband gets upsets. I hope he would bring vonage this August.

Is vonage dependent on the internet connection? Im worried that even if we have vonage, we still could not talk properly.

Is Skype okay even if the internet connection is poor?

We do not call thru phones, coz we are saving money for this visa journey. so we wud do evrything to save money. LOL!

* We chat everyday using yahoo (sometimes we webcam too) and MSN (when I am at work).

* I call my husband in the US to wake him up every time he needs to go to work (yes! I am his long distance alarm clock lol!) or I just wanna hear his voice. I used PLDT Budget card in calling him. It cost Php100 which is good for 33mins of conversation.

* He calls me everyday.

* I usually send him snail mails/card on every occasion. He is lazy in writing so I only got 1 card from him lol!

* He send me flowers, chocolates and teddy bear on special occasions.

* I send him mail packages on special occasions.

* We send emails too n the beginning of our relationship.

* He text me using chikka text messenger (it's free) to my cellphone and I reply to him (Php2.50 per reply)

* We exchange comments on Friendster and Myspace.

* We sometimes eat at the same time on cam :D

I think i am a bit late in replying in this thread. I read this thread 2 or 3 days ago but I didn't had time to reply :D

I don't think it was really wasted. Over that time we really were able to get to know each other very well. He was finishing law school and I was (still am) finishing my masters. He also works full time and so did I, so getting travel time was hard for both of us especially since his law school would not let him miss too many classes. As soon as that was done though he came to see me and has been here many times since, so it doesn't bother me. That time really allowed us both to get our school out of the way so we could enjoy a great future together. :)

Oh.. and he isn't married (never been) and our ages are just ten month apart, so no worries there either. :)

It took us 6 years too, just didnt wanna rush into it...we'll both be 30 next year and sometimes I wish we got married sooner. 3rd wedding anniv on the 4th! :dance:
