Hello Everyone,

I just got my visa today, YAAAHHOOOOO! I will be arriving Manila on the 5th, CFO on Monday, Flight going to my partner will be the following day. Is there a problem with this? Can I have my CFO in just 1 day? Thank you.

its possible... just be at prism or st mary's (wherever is convenient) early in the morning or as early as you can i think prism have 10:30 sked? so by afternoon you can just head to the CFO and get your passport stamp... would have been better if you have another extra day to be safe but a day to spare is still possible since a lot of folks have done it.

i have my CFO at st. mary in QC last aug 25. i arrived at 10 am and all done at 1:30pm. (less than 4 hrs) so yes 1 day is enough. just make sure you have all your documents in order and eventhou i arrived there at 10 am which still gives enough time - i recommend being there as early as 8am considering your flight is next day.

CFO is a breeze. i would say its more of completing a requirement than what the seminar would have imparted on me. an hour of video watching and #######-a-tat with the presenter.... after that was a more like 30 mins of discussion of k1,k3-CR1- AOS process plus one on one counselling/interview by another counselor/representative. Questions like:

where did u meet ur fiance?

how long you have known each other?

is he/she divorce? how long?

does s/he have a child/ren?

:sample questions :whistle:

then filling out of Q&A questions with ur personal infos. The staffs are ok. no fussy-hassle!

FYI: breaktime is 12nn-1pm

Bring: 3 copies of US visa and passport (each) (xerox copy inside st. mary costs 3.00 php /page)

Fees: 250php before seminar

400 php for the CFO sticker

for the record, thats my experience and personal opinion only. :star:

Is this CFO class taken after one gets their visa and new passport? I guess I wasn't even aware of this step. My Fiance is from Cebu. Where would she take it then in Cebu? I would like to hear more on the CFo on this thread, thanks

it only takes a day to get you visas stamped with CFO sticker. but be sure to be very early. Good luck and happy trip.

HI JANETandLYLE.

Visit www.cfo.gov.ph, and click on the link about CFO Registration. You can also visit the page that has the contact details of the Cebu office.

It's not really a class but a Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar (PDOS). It is a requirement. At the end of the PDOS, your girl will be issued a certificate of attendance and a CFO sticker. Without them, she will not be able to exit the Philippines, even if she has a visa and a plane ticket. There is a list of requirments she has to bring on the day of the seminar, including the fees.

Claudeth took her CFO class in Cebu the day before her flight and didn't have any problems. It was a long day for her though.

Is this CFO class taken after one gets their visa and new passport? I guess I wasn't even aware of this step. My Fiance is from Cebu. Where would she take it then in Cebu? I would like to hear more on the CFo on this thread, thanks

02-23-2018: Date on Biometrics Appointment Letter (Biometrics Appointment at Jacksonville ASC on March 13, 10:00 a.m.)

04-05-2018: Case status updated - Interview Scheduled on May 10, 2018, 10:15 a.m. :D

05-10-2018: Citizenship Interview - Passed English and Civics Tests, Recommended for Approval! :D 

06-19-2018: Received email and text notification: Naturalization Ceremony Scheduled; waited for letter to be uploaded on online account - it has been set on Wednesday, July 25, 3:00 p.m.

07-25-2018: I am now a U.S. Citizen!

CFO is a class where the Philippines Govt. and Church tries to brainwash the leaving citizen.

Tries to tell them they can/could be a sex slave or beaten on a daily basis among other BS info given there, also it's another chance for them to extract some more Peso out of your pocket.

Cebu was convenient for us because her flight was from there. Besides, she doesn't like Manila too much.

still some confusion about the CEBU CFO procedures... hope you will kindly clarify for us, pls

WHICH building is the applicant to report to FIRST (where she will appear @ +/- 6am, to guarantee a decent spot in the line)

the CFO site is VAGUE, at best, and offers misinformation, at worse! :(

we DO understand that the guidance counseling is at St Marys on Rahmann St + Gen. Maxilom Avenue (a.k.a. Mango Ave), and ALSO understand that if a sticker is desired on the same day (not, in our case), that a visit to the DFA is necessary, near the CFO location.

but, some people are saying go to St. Marys FIRST to get onto the security guards wait list, there... while OTHERS are saying to report to the CFO office, first...

can you please briefly explain the REAL procedure of WHERE to report FIRST, so that Mari is not sitting in the dark at 5:30am, waiting for a line that is not forming :( ?
