Yesterday I went on a job interview. In fact, first job interview for a full-time position in 3 months.

So, the interviewer asks me what happened with my last position. I told her I got laid off as the end result of a bad merger/economic problems. She says fine and we move on. She explains that the person currently working the position is an desperately underemployed colleague (yay for another U6er!). Then at the end of the interview she says "Oh well, not to scare you, but back to the merger thing. We are planning on merging in January with another firm and this position most likely will be eliminated if everything pans out the way they promised. Of course, they promised us a gigantic 5 story research building, but they recently stopped construction on another major project they had started a few years ago so because the money dried up like a puddle in the desert..."

America use to be about free market competition with strong anti-trust laws, can't have competition if the larger takes over the smaller, what in the hell happened to that?

When I was in the corporate world, if your company was not successful, would belly up and liquidated to the big guys, if very successful, could expect a hostile takeover which was my only reason for losing a job. But my companies were successful and got that way by innovated thinking and hard work. But in two cases, found myself without a paycheck. In the technical fields, the only satisfaction I receive was to watch my old companies belly up with the idiots they put in charge. Even as short as a year for one, and two years for the other.

While I was offered another position, screw that, would only work my a$$ off to make someone else rich, so I started my own business, nobody can take that away from me. But do worry about this country, the home I own is all government with the deed and all that, and only as good as this country. In thinking about investments, maybe some more guns to defend what I think is my property.

My rule was to have three major clients, so if I lost one, still would have two left, but the economy sucks so bad right now, down to one, and sure in the hell can't compete against China. Well could if they would reduce my property and energy expenses down to a buck per year, those two expenses are skyrocketing. Kept myself debt free with money in the bank, just don't care anymore. With our trade policies and our China and Asian owned government, way too much for one guy to fight. But at least for now, staying level. Spend more time writing wasted letters to my governor, congressman, and senator, even Obama, but a waste of my time.

This was a great country once, but with 40 years of poor leadership, it went to hell, may just pack up and move to another country, if I can find one, but really hate to leave my grandkids behind, and what about their future?

What you find in the corporate and government world, is greed, but the corporate world prefers the word, business.

Feel it's time for a major revolution in this country. We are being sold out.
