Well, they took my husbands passport at the interview and we received the same pink and green sheets. Plus a purple sticker we needed to pickup the passport later on. We had 29 days of AP before we got the call from the speedex(like amex, but for sialkot) to immediately pickup the passport. I had not called the embassy or DOS or anyone to find out about the case, as the CO at interview told us to wait till a month and a half and if we didn't hear from them by then to call and inquire. So I had decided to just wait till at least 30 days to call, so I was going to make my first call the very next day but we got the call to pickup passport a day before so never even got to doing it. If it's been 3 weeks....well, that's a bit soon to get impatient I think. Best thing to do is to try and at least wait for a month or a month and a half till getting worried about it....this way you won't be setting your hopes too high which makes things a lot worse...trust me, I speak from experience.

Good luck, and inshallah you will get the call very soon!

oh and btw....just wondering, for the ap list.....is the beneficiary male or female?

Hmm ok I guess I made a mistake in explaining what they gave me. They gave me a Green Sheet, plus the purple sticker stapled on to the Amex office contact info sheet. I thought everyone was referring to the purple sticker as "pinkish" :innocent: Sorry my bad.

I didnt see anyone with pink sheets on my interview day. People were either getting Green Sheets or Blue Sheets (Which said XYZ document is missing).

Did the interviewer tell your husband he's been approved or just that he has been placed on AP. The thing which is bothering me is that the lady said I'm approved and they just need to run some formalities in the system and it might take a few days (she honestly made it sound like I would get my passport back within a week). Its only when i questioned her that she said "well it might be 6 weeks to infinity".

But she did insist that I should listen to what SHE is saying and ignore what is written on the paper as I have been approved (despite the Green Sheet saying that i have been denied until AP is complete).

Btw the beneficiary is Male.

What was written on the Pink Sheet that your husband received?

PS: Thanks for the quick reply. I don't know what we would do if it wasn't for all the great people of VJ!!

After my wife's interview CO lady congrats us and told that my wife's visa had been approved and she kept my wife's passport and only gave us purple Amex slip for picking up her passport. We got call from Amex after 3 or so working days to pickup the passport with CR-1 visa.

So I guess you are going through AP but I am assuming it would be short one.

The thing I'm calling "pink sheet" is just that purple sticker and a post it he stuck it to telling us the number to call after a month and a half to inquire about our AP. And yes, the CO did tell us that we are approved and that AP is just a procedure that everyone goes through. But yes, we are "ehel" meaning approved for the visa.

Hi,

I had my interview on Dec 30th 2009 and at the end of it the lady said told me "congrats you're approved and enjoy your new life in America". I got excited thinking I was not going to be put in AP since I lived in US for 5 years, but, then she handed me a Green Sheet saying that I had been put in AP and they will ask for my passport when they are done.

The thing is that she TOOK my passport right then, I even got a little pinkish receipt so I could pick it up from the American Express offices.

I noticed that most people over here placed on AP were returned their passports and told to submit them latter. So why was mine kept?

Its been three weeks now and I still have not heard anything yet.

What does all this mean? They took my passport, so is that a good sign? How long do you guys think I will have to wait in this limbo?

I have been trying the embassy but as you can imagine they have not helped at all. I cant even get through to a person anymore. The phones are stuck in this infinite loop meant to drive us insane :(.

That's pretty much what happened to my husband on Jan 7Th. Thou he was told he would be put on AP.But he was missing his original police clearance from Swat, so was told when he sends in his police clearance to also include his passport. As you, I thought they didn't ask for passport till the end.

Well ... At least you got a reply to your question.

I hope it will be soon when you get your visa.

Answers anyone?

Well, they told us that we were also approved and that the CO also believed that our intentions for going to USA were for the best. Then he gave us the list of AmEx offices, no pink/blue/green sheet, just the list of offices and he circled the one in Sialkot, and stapled the purple sticker to it and stuck one on Zaheer's passport. He said that the AP was mandatory and takes on average 2-3 months, could be longer or shorter. That's all we were told. Its been almost 3 months now, and I have been back in USA away from Zaheer for 1 month now. I am getting worried about having the baby without him. The good news is that I contacted DOS today and they said as of Jan 12 it is still pending AP, but I asked her if they would just suddenly decide to deny him even if they told him he was approved. She said no they dont usually do that. Also, she said she could see no indication by our case that there were any problems. No one has asked about his brothers and sisters so far. Some people on this site talk about getting Emails from the embassy, but I never ever get any. We have emailed them like 10 times and to this day, over 1.5 months, they have not responded to a single email or fax. Our senator's office even contacted them, and they told my husband last monday that they replied back to her that day. Just keep us in your prayers people. I want Zaheer to be here for our daughter's birth. I never wanted to be away from him, that's why I lived in Pakistan for almost a year. So.. anyhow. Take care all. Allah Hafiz.

This might be a stupid question but I will ask anyways:)

No it's not a stupid question, and it does matter what you wear. I would suggest American clothes.

Best of luck on the interview
