@saba_yasir I also agree with Omark , I beleive u will get a call from Amex very soon , and it is normal that embassy take 2 to 3 weeks to return passport, and in the last of December there were to many holidays so may be thats the reason of delay , stay possitive and keep ur chin up INSHALLAH ur husband will get his visa soon

Call of truth from the Embassy in the morning I have sent my Passport today. Looks like i will be graduating from AP in couple of weeks - Following the tradition i need some1 to take up the job of updating the AP list.

Saba_Yasir : In my opinion your hubby shud be getting his passport anytime now.At the embassy, they dont tell u what exactly is going on with your passport even if they about to print visa they would still say its in AP.I m sure you will be getting a call from Amex very soon... average time to receive passports from isl is 2 to 3 weeks so hang in there.

Hopeful786 : After AOS your husband to be will get a 2 years GC and then 90 days before 2 yrs dead line he will have to apply to remove conditions off the 2 yrs gc...which shundt be an issue obviously its a ligit shadi .... i am going thru the same processs now whens the wedding by the way?

Omark, we are going to have our nikka ceremony around the end of february and right after will be the wedding insha'Allah. I didn't pick the date yet until he gets his passport back insha'Allah. When he does get it back I will set a date bakhair.

and Saba, Omar is right, even if the visa is printed they will still say AP until your husband gets that passport with the visa. Hang in there, insha'Allah your husband will get the call soon.

does the Police report need to be certified. I mean from any foreign office or any other office.

According to my personal experience no need of any attestation from foreign office

Congrats Feisal Bhai. I am glad for you that you are finally out of such a long long AP. We are still waiting now. We have passed the 2.5 month mark. If you count business/work weeks. Zaheer is getting nervous, as am I. Just nervous because as the due date draws nearer and nearer we are afraid what will happen. I don't want to have surgery all alone. I don't want to be sitting, alone in the hospital with my little baby without her daddy. We contacted the Embassy... they said AP. We contacted DOS and they said AP. We have the Congressman's office working on a case for us, and they said they have been waiting to hear back form Islamabad and have received no reply regarding our case. We have asked every question possible as to whether this or that could be holding up our case, and they always tell us that everything seems fine with our case and that it is just "internal" processing. Our K3 visa had a validity date on it of Aug 28th-Dec 28th. Well, its passed that now.. so what happens? We submitted the forms about 2.5 weeks ago to continue on the course with the I-130 (just in case). And haven't received anything back from them yet. Both Islamabad embassy and Dept of State have been telling us that they have had their computers down off and on for the last few days. So, I dunno if that will affect any case processing. I just can't figure out what is taking so long. Oh well... I guess this is just our luck. The congressman's office has a cse worker on our case and she said just to figure it this way, if there was going to be a reason for them to deny you, they would have found it by now. the fact that it is taking so long is a good sign. But then I told her about Khalidnfatima's case how they got sent back to USCIS after 5 months of AP without any word or anything. And I said "What if they make a mistake on our case like that?" and she said "But that RARELY happens". Still doesn't make me feel much better. It happened to Khalidnfatima. Anyhow. For those of you who have gotten visas... please just keep us posted. I am so glad for you guys and please please pray for us. I need my husband here for me during this time. My ex still isn't letting me see my daughter either. I have been back in my home city for 2-3 weeks now, and he hasn't let me see her, talk to her, or give her a birthday gift. She just turned 3 and I havent seen her in over a year. I called the court to ask what I can do if he wont let me have my visitation like he is supposed to, and they said to file a contempt of court form. Its so hard not to have my husband or my daughter here with me. My dad got laid off from his job so he spends all his time glued to the stock market websites and my mom is busy working. So..... Tara I am sorry to hear about this tough time u r facing , but this time will be over soon . and most of CR1 applicants from pakistan get their visas after the AP , that khalidandfatima's case is rare one.

My heart is beating so fast. I just called the us embassy and the lady told us that a letter was sent to my husband last dec 18. we havent gotten anything. so my husband is going to the post office as in right now. UGH! i am so worried! what could it mean? we are currently on AP since sept. 2009...WHAT COULD IT BE? the lady said there was no decision yet as to my husbands visa...if it's denied or not...

Any word on this mysterious letter?

Hey Tara first of all Happy New year! 2nd why do u think ur hubbys visa will be denied? ur hubby is been in AP for 2 1/2 months only ... i was in AP for more than 4 months so was feisal and some other ppl.What do u think could cause for visa being rejected?if theres no reason for visa denial then its just a waiting game... i understand it can drives u kookoo but just take one day at a time and time will fly... i know u hated pizza in pakistan but look u r back n can have real american, italian wanna be pizza now . Lemme ask u a question ur hubbys I-130 and K-3 got approved at the same time and you chose to persue k-3???????? doesnt make any sense.Where in the US are u? i am here in cali and i hate it ...wanna be back in NY where i belong plus just call ISL forget DOS cuz isl will give u the rite info dos just follows....Good Luck.
