Insha'Allah I hope it is a visa call letter. I'm praying that it is!! My fiance had his interview on September 15, 2009, and received an email a few days ago to submit his passport.

I was looking through the guides on visajourney AND they are VERY helpful. However, I have one question what is the purpose for removal of conditions?

when a spouse of USC enters USA on CR1 Visa he got a conditional green card valid for two year , so they have to go through the process REMOVAL OF CONDITIONS 90 days prior to the expiry date , and with that the immigrant can get a green card valid for ten years .

That applies for k-1 and other immigrant status right?

That is definite for CR1 Visa holders , On K1 visa first u will have to apply for AOS (adjustment os status) then after its approval if they give u ten years green card then no need of REMOVAL OF CONDITIONS. but if they give u 2 years green card then u will have to apply for that

Hello everyone!

I am a silent user of this site but posting here for the first time .

I m Saba a USC we got married in January 2009 in Pakistan then I flew back to States and filed petition for my hubby everything went smoothly and after going through all process at CIS and NVC we got Interview date of 14th December. I came to Pakistan to attend the interview with my hubby,

at that time we were aware and mentally prepared for that stupid AP(aditional pain).

Interview went very smoothly CO asked few questions and didnt ask for any additional documents even she didnt ask for wedding pics bcoz she already had our wedding pics on her desk which we sent to the USCIS. then she said everything is fine with ur case and handed over all the origional civil documents to my hubby ,

we did a blunder hubby's passport was valid only for 4 months at after the interview. the CO was a super nice lady she asked my hubby that we normally issues Immigrant Visa with 6 months of validity but ur passport is valid only for 4 months , so if I issue u a Visa with 3 months of validity is that ok for u ? we both said at once yes thats fine for us , she smiled and started typing something in her computer , then she said I issued u a Visa valid for 3 months and ur Visa will expire on 14th of march so u have to travell to USA before 14th March , Hubby said ok . then she kept his passport and gave him a list of approved couriers with a purple token on it and said u will get ur passport with in 15 days . and said have a safe journey to USA. we left the embassy dancing and jumping .

so today after 20 days i called the embassy to inquire about my hubby's case and a guy said that the case is in AP I was shocked to hear that then I called the DOS and a lady told me the same thing.

now what kind of AP is this ? I m so disappointed and heartbroken at the moment even i cant stop my tears my heart is really aching

can some one plz tell me what kind of AP is this and what should we do ?

when I saw the AP timelines of brother Feisal and sister hopeful786 i got more scared u guys are really brave and strong but i m very weak I will definitely get a heart attack if I have to wait this much , plz plz I need some words of encouragment and some advise

Saba, insha'Allah AP will go by fast if you don't count every day that passes, and the AP timeframe varies for everyone. Look at mumtaz, her husband's AP lasted 29 days. My fiance's AP took 3.5 months, but that is because I THINK my fiance is from Afghanistan and most of the Afghan applicants had their AP over in 3.5 months.

Insha'Allah everything will be ok and I will make duas that your husband will receive his passport soon. Now is a good time to start setting up your place with furniture and so on. If you did that already, then start researching about the next steps to take when he comes here insha'Allah (permanent resident card, removal of conditions, and so on... see what applies to your husband)

Wait until the end of this month at least and see what goes on. Always set a day for each month to wait for, and if that day comes with no news, set another day.

Also Saba, as mentioned before AP is a term that covers everything - name and background check, document verification, field investigation and other investigations to determine if it is a bona fide relationship or if the information on the documents are accurate or for some other reason the CO would want to clarify, and etc.. Unfortunately, DOS and the US Embassy doesn't disclose what is being done in particular, but one thing that is done for sure is a namecheck (the length of the namecheck is determined by the number of suspected terrorist names in which your husband's name matches with). Insha'Allah this AP will be over for you. Just wait a little bit more and this part of the process will move soon.

Saba_Yasir - Keep yourself busy with anything and everything you can find. Call Embassy or DOS on Tuesday and Friday only - do not follow on too much or this will stick to your head - Just stay busy that is the best way to fight the AP out and you need to be emotionally and mentally strong.

I believe or have a strong feeling u will get your visa by March - so u better have a reservation for March 10th :) -

Saba_Yasir : In my opinion your hubby shud be getting his passport anytime now.At the embassy, they dont tell u what exactly is going on with your passport even if they about to print visa they would still say its in AP.I m sure you will be getting a call from Amex very soon... average time to receive passports from isl is 2 to 3 weeks so hang in there.

Hopeful786 : After AOS your husband to be will get a 2 years GC and then 90 days before 2 yrs dead line he will have to apply to remove conditions off the 2 yrs gc...which shundt be an issue obviously its a ligit shadi .... i am going thru the same processs now :) whens the wedding by the way?

Feisal : You are definitely is the next ... I would wanna remain on this thread till everyone get their visas :) keep charging.

Pray for all.....God Bless.
