my husband entered the US on 09/09/09 and POE was JFK... He was the first one in line and it took him three hours to get the immigration process done.. they asked him several questions regarding our first meeting, his job, my job, and the company that he used to work for. Despite the long wait and several questions, experience was good since they were nice and harassment level was zero.

Overall, it was great!

We had a wonderful today mashaAllah and many more to come inshaAllah :-)

As far as we know, there wasn't any translator available.. there was an another girl (either from Iran or Iraq) who didn't understand English so they called in someone from airport services but turned out she didn't understand arabic either.. her language was tikrit (or something) so they were trying to find someone who could help her out but apparently there wasnt any translator available at all. They did ask her if she could speak any common lanuage like Italian, Spanish etc. so someone could help her but nada! Hubby came out before she did so he doesn't know much about her situation.

Feisal.. yes L179 did.. I spoke to her y'day.. they are leaving for the US on Sept. 19th inshaAllah :-)

Thanks everyone.. we just had our second sehri together.. four years of marriage and first Ramadan together mashaALlah :-)

thanks and we are in Massachusetts.. POE was JFK and then another 4 hours drive to MA.

If you are going to do a transfer from JFK, make sure you have enough time between the connecting flights at least 5-6 hours.. better to be done early than going through the agony of "i may miss my next flight"

Anyone know why the heck nvc is taking so long to forward my case to ISL embassy? It's been 6 days now and they still haven't sent the file out yet!!! Is this how long it took for everybody or is it just me the nvc is trying to depress to death? I'm praying they'll forward it by the 7th....making it a whole week of laziness on their part.....otherwise I'm just going to lose it completely (i'm sure you all can tell i'm already on the brink of insanity....).

I've been calling the ISL embassy like a mad women for a week now.....and they're ALWAYS BUSY!!!!!!!! Not once have I been able to talk to anyone out of the 500 times I've called!! I'm just so frustrated!!! How am I supposed to request an earlier interview date if NO ONE CARES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've emailed them daily at PAKIVINFO@state.gov(the email that they say to use for quicker service - NOT!) for the passed 6 days and have gotten nothing from them as of yet, honestly now.....a single reply of an email(which they claim is supposed to be faster service)can't be that difficult!!! I requested them to reschedule for an earlier date is all.....they could at least have the courtesy and decency to simply reply with a yes or no for GOD'S SAKE!

I wish I could calm down....and it could be my hormones driving me up the wall like this for all any of us know.....but damn I'm just so depressed with the whole "no progress" I've been having with our case for the past few weeks. It feels like I'm already in AP....and dealing with the oh so dead DOS......I shouldn't have to feel like that so soon.....it's not fair! We haven't even had our interview yet.....

Sorry....totally venting....:(

I understand what your talking about!!! I emailed ISL to reschedule an earlier interview for my husband and they emailed me back and told me that my case was not in ISL, so i got upset and called NVC and they said they didn't send my case to ISL yet I asked them when??? NVC said they don't know when they are sending it to ISL and told me call back in a couple of weeks??? I got soo madd this is not fair so I emailed NVC and they didn't reply to me.

My husband's interview is OCT 28, 2009 and I wanted to spend my birthday with him oct 22 but if NVC doesn't hurry up and send my case to ISL then we won't be able to get a sooner interview date....

I called ISL and some one answered and they transfered me to an auto recording i got so madd just hung up so I emailed ISL and they acutally replied to me if you want I will give u 3 email addresses for ISL to make sure they reply to you.....

You'd think they would have a little bit more sense than to just give us that sh1tty answer.....not forwarded...blah blah. I mean they know the case WILL BE forwarded, they might as well just reschedule and get us off their backs!!!!!!!

I'm sick of not being able to get a hold of anyone on the phone or get any replies....if you could give me those other email address's I would be really appreciative! ^_^
