Hi Everyone!

I just read through ALL 16 pages of this forum! lol.. and wow, I LOVE the Pakistani portal, 'cause the Afghanistan Portal is so empty!

My fiance (male) had his interview on July 21st, and so on monday it has been exactly a month of AP.

He was given a blue/green letter stating that his visa was denied for AP and that the ISL embassy will call him when his visa is ready.

He did not give them his passport at the interview, but he said the lady CO was nice and didn't ask him very many questions (also, since the US Embassy in Kabul is supposed to be the liaison for Afghans and ISL, she told him he could go ahead and submit his passport there, but on the blue/green letter it says to wait, and since we've called and emailed ISL Embassy many times since then, they say to wait to submit it until called also)

We were very hopeful because during my fiance's trips to Islamabad to pick up his interview letter and then medical, he met two Afghans going through the visa process also, but they have both gotten their visas already (1 after just 2 weeks and one after just 3 weeks, but his visa was apparently printed the day after the interview, so i don't know why it took so long)

But yes, ALI, you can add us to the spreadsheet as well... and we are hopeful, inSHALLAH we will get his visa during Ramadan, would be such a blessing! God bless you all, and thank you for the forum, it is very encouraging! Come on ISL! Don't let us down! :)

Atk..you think calling them three times a day would make the process go faster?!?! Because twice a day ain't working :$ I do feel like I am being impatient.. I wish Allah Taala would give me some patience and I would stick to my promise of not calling DOS everyday.. I just hurt myself by calling them over and over again :(

Naz&Omi.. Join the club..I had also heard that Afghanis were getting visas quicker than Pakistanis so hang in there.. what did they tell him at the interview?! 1-3 months or what? And you are right, I also feel like this thread has brought most of us together and brought good news to lots of people who have been going through AP.. we shall keep it active until every single one of us on this spreadsheet gets the visa. :D

She said the standard, 6 weeks minimum AP and 3 months maximum... I'm going to wait until it's been 60 days before I call DOS, but I REALLY pray it is done during Ramadan... 6 weeks is only a week and a half away! It's all so random though, so just gotta be patient :) thanks everyone!

Gym is a really good idea :) I started that right after we submitted our original I-129F TEN MONTHS AGO! lol.. it is so hard... I haven't seen my fiance in almost a year (on September 2nd, it will be a year).. I understand the pain... but you know Waiting4approval, there IS a minimum time that you should wait before calling DOS (they say 60 days in this forum). It's only been a month, dear, and 3 months is standard for males in that region.. it'll be ok. And Ramadan is a blessed month, you will hear something soon. I think on the CR-1 cases, they give you a longer time period as your maximum because they are filing additional paperwork to help you get your green card right away. Don't worry, just set a date to start calling DOS (maybe the last week of September). Trust me, you'll hear something from the ISL Embassy no matter if you call DOS or not **hugs** We are almost the same timeline, and I know it's a pain after ALL the waiting we've already done.. but it WILL end. I always know in my heart that it WILL end some day, and that will be the best day ever!

and yes Lonely Heart, I have the feeling that even though my fiance says he will get on the next plane, if it happens during Ramadan he will wanna stay :D :D haha.. but the only thing that makes me nervous is all the increased violence in Kabul for the elections (that's where my Omar is)... I will be doing Ramadan with my fiance again this year, and it helps us to feel closer :) You must be SOOOO excited!! And I just tried on my wedding dress, so I'm hitting the gym HARD :) LOL

Prayers for both of you, and we'll make it through.. the love grows stronger, the longer it takes!
