I would for sure get another one just in case. IF its only good until july 4th they will tell you to submit a new valid one putting you in ap until they receive the documents. YEah ISlamabad is putting more women thru ap...we did everything we could as well to submit what we could and take what we could to the interview but there isn't anything we can do if they want to put you in ap they will. I hope you dont have to go into the darkness like we did best of luck!!

I found this

http://www.llmlaw.com/us_embassies_visa_processing/pakistan_islamabad.htm

In particular it says:

In the summer when demand is greatest, the appointment wait time may increase significantly. Special administrative and security processing requirements following the interview may increase the amount of time a successful applicant will wait before receiving a visa.

the summer demand refers to non-immigrant visas...

yes but they also have to go thru certain security measures as well especially from pakistan so if thats the case then there are extra ppl traveling then the extra ppl have to have security measures taken which means non immigrant or immigrant either one will take a little more time than normal.

Sounds like its just mandatory ap.. name checks security clearance :) they kept your passport so that will save time once they issue the visa they wont have to wait for you to submit your passport to issue the visa.. saves about 2-3 weeks .

Its all very confusing.. Inshallah and CArolyn also needs to be done with this.. theyve waited 10 months on this AP... I know that the embassy is being very thorough in many ways due to the fraud of some men and from the issues of the past with the terrorism... so we understand and appreciate what the embassy does but at the same time once they know everything is fine ...they should proceed to issue the visa instead of making us wait even longer... Inshallah this will all be over soon... for us all!!

My Senator's office called me today and said the embassy did not return the emails that they sent to request the status of our case. So the Senator's office called the NVC and they said we were still in AP.

After 10 months of AR/AP my husband and I are so tired and stressed out.

Packet 3.5 was sent to the embassy on Monday and I called DOS today to see if they received it but the lady told me that my fiancee is still on AP. Not sure what she meant by still but I asked her if they received our petition or not but then she said that she didn`t know. Are they doing AP checks even before they grant a interview? Hopefully this is a system error
