Sounds like he's still in AP. What kind of slips/papers did the Co give your hubby? Theres no way to track the status, but you can call the DOS and they will just tell you it's pending until its complete. Unfortunately there is no way to know when AP will be complete. Luckily, some people do only get a month of AP, hoping you get that as well. Just let us know what papers you got and if need be, we will add you to the spreadsheet. Good luck!

they gave him a bluewish slip which says they r returning his passport and putting him in AP,,, but the thing is after giving him that slip , the CO kept his passport and said that they ll call him to pick it up in 1 month.. lets c. hopefully it wont take longer.

Pretty much the same thing happened to us. The CO was insisting on AP and telling us about it. Then he gave us the slip and placed the passport on the tray so husband could pick it up. He didn't pick it up and instead seeing that my husband was so reluctant to pick it up and so heartbroken about the AP he picked it back up and told us that if in a month and a half we don't get a call from the embassy to pick up the passport w/ visa stamped to call the embassy and inquire.

AP lasted 29 days, got a call to pickup the passport at the speedex and did so immediately a half an hour afterwards of it. It's still AP if the CO takes the passport and tells you to wait a month...since that is just the CO giving a guess on how long he/she thinks your AP may take....it's a guess, but it is something substantial for us still. :)

Good luck and inshallah may Allah bless you with a quick and smooth AP. ^_^

Ok, maybe not in all cases mixed-race is an issue, but it just seems like it. They told my husband 1-3 months and look now. They have no idea how long it will be and I dont think anything will expire while your on AP because they know you don't have control over AP. And, is the medical really only valid for 6 months? I thought it was a year. Also, what ever did happen with Tajsamericanwife? Last I heard her hubby got some letter and they didnt know what it was, I didnt see anything about them after that. Anyone?

Yes. Taj's husband received his visa on Jan 20th but they are having trouble because I believe it was only valid for 3 or so months but they had wanted to wait till their son's case went through so that they could come together I believe. And something about his medical school or something too...they had thought they would get a normal 6 month valid visa...but did not.

SlamoAlaikum everyone!

So Hows everybody doin? OMG waiting is so hard! its just the 4th day after Interview, seems like forever!

I guess we must wait for atleast a month, hoping will get a call from AMEX before making up my mind to start calling DOS! CO at IV told us no more doc needed and should wait for 2-3 months and it could be less! I really hope we n everyone else have short Ap AMeeen.

What should i assume out of CO Statement, 2-3 months could be in less time! ???

I also learned from old threads case is usually at ISL embassy and they contact DC only if they need additional info?

I have a qs though is Visa printed at ISL embassy or it goes to DC , gets printed n then comes back!

Any updates with anybody?

How r u HSHAH? Ur hubs IV is on 17th I wish u both goood luck, All my prayers for everyone waiting to be with their loved ones soon ! AMEEN

Take care, hang in there ,

USMOMO and IT_1...

Our CO told us also, that AP should take 2-3 months. He said it could be shorter or longer. So.. it has been over 3 months. We were not missing any documents or anything. they said that our visa was aproved and that we would hear from them when to submit our passport. I dunno if the reason it is taking so long is because we filed for K3 visa or not. So, just keep up your hope. things will be fine. Insha'Allah. take care all. Allah Hafiz.

USmomo..... I actually got ur messages. but I was unable to reply.... even though I so wanted to get in touch with you. I just started my new job and been crazy busy with that. I actually got chance to read ur interview experience. My husband is going to leave for Islamabad (today Pakistan's Tuesday). His interview is on wednesday Feb 17th Inshallah. Please pray for us.

Also I was wondering... when u have nikkah only....and when rukhsati is yet to be done. What do you tell them. Just to show that u r husband and wife, do u tell them tht u have lived together or what? I was just wondering. I havent had my rukhsati yet, we r only nikkahfied. Just wondering u know. Also almost how long it takes for a person to get done with the whole process on the interview day. just wondering if he ll be able to come out around 1 or 2 pm so i would be able to talk to him on phone. I wont be able to sleep whole night until I get to know the results. I have work at 7 in the morning tht day  . Im thinking to take off from work, only if my boss let me :/.

Anyways guys please pray for us. His interview is on Feb 17th (that be Feb 16th evening in US).

I am a word, uttered and repeated by the voice of nature..
