waiting for approval - his letter says that AP min 6 weeks - no time limit.

the consular officer told him that ON AVERAGE it takes 3 months.... my friend's husband got the same letter n they put him on same AP as well with 6 weeks - no time limit and he got his visa in 6 weeks!!!!! she said she started calling the embassy after 3 weeks and on the 5th week when she called the lady on the phone said that your visa has not arrived yet but go ahead and send in your passport. Despite of disagreement from everyone in the family, she submit the passport n guess wat with in 5 days they got the visa! btw it was a K3 visa..

ok we all got the same letter.. Atk was told 1- 3months (her AP was over in 1 month and 12 days) L179 and I were told 2-3 months verbally and we havent heard anything yet.. I have been told that my case is in final review but it can take another 1-2 weeks.. the way things are going on at ISB, looks like AP is lasting between 6-8 weeks in general!

K-3s are getting out of AP quicker than the CR/IR because apparently it's not like they are giving you the green card as soon as you enter the US with K-3 but with CR/IR the AP takes a lil bit longer but you receive the green card within a month or so without going through any hassle of EAD or AOS.

Good luck.. don;t worry, it will be over soon. Please fill in your timeline too :)

Yes Ramadan Mubarak to you too Lonely Heart and all Muslim VJers!

MZJ - although AP is shorter and quicker for a K3 and like waitingforapproval said that greencard is given earlier on CR1, I have heard of a few cases where the applicant is put on another AP after entering the US and at the time of adjusting status from a K3. so in the end its about the same.

Waitingforapproval - so ummm, yeah I called yesterday and spoke to Sarah! Now I know what you are talking about! Gosh, she is an angel and the sweetest person in immigration yet! She said we are in final review as well and we should be hearing from the embassy soon for a call for the passport!! GRIN! I still couldn't believe my ears so of course I called again a little while later and the guy was like AP pending with an attitude. So i said well, I was told his case is in final review is this right, and he was like yes. I said what's next he goes nothing...just wait!

So i was like yeah ok...same to you "*£&%*"!
