Ok we got married on the 7th of June 2009. We are still waiting for the marriage papers to come in the post. What are the next steps that we need to do? And what sort of time limit do we have?

File AOS.

The time limit is based on when your fiance entered the US, not on when you get married. You do no tlist that in your timeline, so I cannot answer. Check her I-94 card. It is best to file AOS before the expiration date on that card. You MUST have been married before the expiration date. Since you have come this far and wait until you are married to ask, "what's next?" I am going to suggest you read the guides. Here is a clue...

Get out your check book and write a check for $1,010.00 The guides will tell you who to make it out to and where to send it. The guides will give you a much better answer than we ever could. If you still do not understand something...come back and ask.
