CSC vs VSC service times

I guess I may have far too much time on my hands or it may just be my alalytical nature, but I noticed that CSC was generating better turnaround times than was VSC... I looked at the sizes of the groups for each month and saw that starting near the beginning of the year or so, CSC had a drop in the numbers in each month on Igors list that only recently has happened in VSC's results, a drop of near 20%. We may see a decline in VSC processing times as a result of the lower numbers reporting here... this coupled with the FBI reduction in Name checks should be a great thing for us..

Maybe, maybe not. USCIS reports a very large drop in the number of marriage and family based visas "for which visa numbers are immediately available" that is the K visas and Ir-1/Cr-1 visas so near and dear to VJ members. But there has been an offsetting increase in all types of visas, the VSC and CSC process all types of visas. As "K" visas decline, staff is shifted or assigned to other types of visas. The USCIS seems to be happy with the production of K visas (though VSC used to be faster than CSC just a year ago). I doubt you will see them putting them out any faster as when this happens they will adjust resources and move them onto other visa types. (petitions and applications get processed, even when a visa number is not immediately available)

In their official reprt they indicate that "K" visas are down as travel is down and other types of visa applicants are up due to people wanting to come here for work, education etc. Despite what you might think, the USA has one of the better economies in the world right now. There is still a lot of people in places much worse off that would like to come here.

HOLY MOLY, IGORS list is kinda weird because my updated processed time for my wifes USCIS request at the CSC to be adjudicated was pushed back from September 09 to November 09 to a new time period of November 09 to November 2010.. Crazy. Must be a fluke but i hope that I do not have to wait this long ehh..

the dates will chnge as time passes and people update the timelines, but the fact that so many don't update them has an impact on what we see.
