Although Planned Parenthood is a good idea, i really think going to a doctor to get birth control when you already know the brand you should use and you have been using it for a long time is too much of a hassle. I would recommend you buy them online from pharmacies from Canada. I've had very good experiences with that, not only you can find medicines you can't find in here, but for a lot cheaper. Always be careful and make sure you are ordering EXACTLY what you want, but other than that i think you'll have great results. Plus, i will save you all the unnecessary stress of going to a doctor.

Good Luck :)

How do you know online pharmacies are legit and that they aren't just sending you sugar pills? And aren't they illegal without a valid prescription anyway?

Because, my parents have order more than one brand of pills and they are the same pills you would get at any pharmacy in the USA. Come on this are CANADIAN pharmacies, is not like they come from a weird country. They are completely legit; I invite you to research them. As with any online store you have to be careful. No, actually the united states is very strict with their medicine policies. Many other countries sell medicines without prescription, specially something as basic as birth control, taking a pill a day is not too hard i would think, its not rocket science.

But of course I understand is not for everyone because some people can't do anything without a doctor telling them so.

I'm not saying you should go and buy random pills and prescribe yourself, but for someone who know what brand and how to take birth control, i think is a great option.

Do what millions of illigal (people) (mexicans) do, tell them you have no id and give false information! All bs aside, dont worry about it, there is a thing called doctor/patient ?confendentulatly? and it would take a court order for the doctor to release any private info.

I'm all for ordering online if you have a valid prescription. But the fact that these "pharmacies" are willing to sell to customers that do not hold a prescription shows something is fishy. All the countries I have lived in have required a prescription for birth control. It's not something that you can just walk into a store and pick up

I just hope for your sake that the so called medicines you are getting are in fact what you think they are and not sugar pills or something else

First let me clarify that there is nothing illegal about buying birth control online, I would never suggest to do something illegal. If you don't believe me please, as I said before, research it before implying something; I've had good experiences with it before and i'm just giving my opinion. Second, there is nothing wrong or "fishy" about buying birth control without prescription, that is not how Americans do it, or whichever countries you have lived in, but please accept that just because other countries do it differently it doesn't mean its wrong. And thirdly I was just making a suggestion to the OP, whether you feel comfortable or not doing it yourself is not the issue in hand. I'm just trying to be helpful.

Birth control pills are a prescription drug.

I understand they may be OTC in some countries but here in the US, where we live, they are Rx only

Yes I understand they are prescription drugs here in the US, that is why I am not saying she should get them here without a prescription....God, i'm saying she should other them online from a country, in this care CANADA, where it is not a prescription drug. I don't understand why you are so against it, it is not illegal and is a option available to her. I mean, if you don't like it don't do it, it was just a suggestion, but please don't say she should it do it because it is illegal because that is WRONG info.

Are you sure it's OTC in Canada? Everything I have read says it's a Rx only drug there too

Yes, I've not got birth control online myself, but i have a couple of friends who have, and I've bought some other medicines for my parents.... They have also brought birth control from Venezuela, which they sell without prescription too (not online tho)

Look, I undestand you are use to birth control being a precription drug; I live here, and I get my birth control with prescription every month. I have nothing againts prescriptions....I was just trying to help her due to her situation and the good experieces i've had with this online farmacies in the past. it is not illegal and is a option available to her. I mean, if she doesn't like it or feels uncorfortable she shouldn't do it, it was just a suggestion.

But seriously i don't want to make this and issue, the point her is to help her and give her options. I also feel like the Planned Parenthood suggestion someone gave is very good. :)

Does anyone else believe that this lady just wants to get pregnant? I think it's brilliant ma'am. Tell your husband, "Honey, I am out of the pill and I can't go to the doctor because my I-94 is expired." Absoluetely brilliant, something I hope my Thai fiancée wouldn't think up.

All the best to your new family!

BermyCat is right. Birth Control pills definitely require a prescription in Canada and are not sold OTC.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
