Hi VJs,

Does anyone here ever proof to the CO about the prepaid mobile? The best thing I can think of is that I need to get several callers who called my fiancee prior to November 05, which before our engagement. I hope the CO would accept these statements as proof of my fiancee mobile. In our case, I think they suspect that we are related.

Hi Menyoo,

I am happy to see you are getting things together. Well, your parents birth certificates should be some proof, as well as hers. As for the mobile phone, can she go to the place she purchased the phone or the number, and get them to write something stating her number as well as her name and adress? I hope this helps you.

By the way, I read your other post, but our file is still at a stand still at the USCIS. This IMBRA law has really caused so much delay to our timeline. Basically we are at square one, and are probably looking at another 4 months. Thank you for all your help. I hope you can get something together that will provide them with what they need.

Hi Menyoo and Mike,

Quick question to menyoo, they are suspecting you two are related. Why would a phone records from other people calling her will disproof that suspecision? It's a pre-paid phone, i doubt it there is much you can prove to them that it is her phone by having random people calling it. It would make sense if your parents in the US calling the number, to show there is contact between you guys. But that could raise an issue with "relations". So, I am not sure how that mobile phone is the solid proof. Menyoo, should have your folks to write handwriten letter to her, sending asap. have a fews, like once a week, or once every two weeks... That's more valuable than some phone records.

To disproof the relations between you and your fiance, usually, they will ask the beneficiary and you to submit the certified Birth Certificate from the village/town/ward where your parents were born. For some families, they were born in the same village and were next door neighbor, whose last name is the same "NGUYEN/TRAN/LE/PHAM/HUYNH" etc. That one is tricky, but if they have the local official to vow by issuing the certified BC, Consulate seems to be OK with it. My wife's cousin had to do that, since her husband's family were born in the same town as her parents.

I don't know if this makes any sense, but let me know

Am I missing something here or is it just one of those mysteries as to why they want proof of "utilities bills from my ex-wife to prove that we live at two difference address" and birth certificates of your parents?

Am I going to have to get this stuff too when it comes time?

Once again, freaked out confused member.

CharileBox, to answer your questions:

1. Proof of address from former spouse --- Rest assure that the CO will absolutely ask for this type of document. How you can obtain such document is simply your problem. They do not care. However, when they requested this on my case, I simply just wrote a sworn statement telling them where I think my former spouse lives and they were fine with it. I have mentioned this on a few posts before.

2. BC of yours and your fiancee's parents --- They will only ask for this when they suspect the two of you are related. If you two are from the same small town, have the same uncommon last name (Vu, Dinh, Ho ...), then you should prepare for it. Even in some cases, they will even ask for the BC of your ex's parents if they suspect your fiancee and your ex are related. Hope that helps.

I used to be indecisive. Now I am just not sure ...

So you just printed out a statement and sent it to Loan? Any certification to it, or something like that?
