Tampa has been ok to us, but I have gotten frustrated many of times with them because they couldn't give us any information. Partly I think it's too confusing to have paperwork sent to MSC/NBC. All the processing should be done at the local offices I think.

I hope you get the approval or the interim appt. letter very soon.

Ok so we have made a second infopass appointment. I am so irritated right now.

I called the unhelpful line. The 1st rep I spoke to indicated - I am sorry you are having difficulty with obtaining a completion of your case - you are outside of the normal processing time, your husband can begin working immediately. I wil transfer you to a rep that can help you. <<<transfer>>

2nd rep I spoke to advised we need to go back to Tampa and speak to a supervisor as the 1st infopass appt supposedly got it all wrong. She advised if we just continued normal processing, the district office has 60 days after biometrics is taken to process to completion. I responded - we are at around 120 days, you are saying an additional 60 days #######. She stated over again 60-90 days processing times are a guideline. (i know that, thanks) and that the interim EAD is up to the discretion of the local office and they can choose not to issue you one.

infopass appt scheduled for March 2nd. I am so pissed off and honestly jealous of those with smooth processes. I feel we have been wrung around through this entire process.

/end rant

I'm so sorry that you are having such a hard time. It makes you wonder how the AP can be approved so fast, but the EAD is taking so long.

I know it's hard when some people get their AOS approved in only a few months without an interview, and you are having such a hard time just getting the EAD after four months.

Don't give up hope that you will receive the interim EAD appt. letter in the mail, maybe they are behind.

Have you tried faxing or calling your Senator or State rep? For my husband's renewal EAD I feel the Senator's office helped us tremendously.

Good luck.

Ok guys... we just received the actual EAD! We are thrilled... but we noticed an interesting part about it...

It says valid from 12/27/05 - 12/26/06... i KNEW it... this was the last time our case was TOUCHED (as well as approval of AP)... pending biometrics. This is just #######. Thank goodness we finally got it, but #######... looks as though it was approved back in December. ah well USCIS, what service!

Well many of us seemed to have the same problem...except in your case they didn't tell you the approval was pending biometrics and it took you too damn long to get the actual EAD  The good thing is that Abdel can work now :thumbs: Wohoo!

7:30 this morning Abdel went down to the Tampa office for the Infopass appt. They had him fill out a new EAD form and stated he will receive a letter this week with an appointment for next week to return. Next week he will have his biometrics done onsite and will receive the Interim EAD on the spot!

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

:dance::dance::dance::dance:

Hi,

Many congrats on the EAD. I am living in the same area and not working is driving me crazy. What is the Tampa Office like to deal with?

Posted

Oh they have been ok. (That infopass appointment did not yield any resultsbtw) Just like other local offices they are quirky. They are also one of the slower offices if you check out the timelines.

Good luck to you in a speedy journey, I know it can be difficult waiting and waiting and waiting.
