OK... soooo we just got the VISA! AT LASTTTTTT!!:thumbs:

So... now my husband and I are in the process of trying to figure out flights and such! Would it be odd or somehow against the rules or something if we bought a "round-trip" flight that is SOMEHOW 1/2 the price of "ONE WAY"?

For round trip its like $1,600 and for the same basic flight info its $3300 if we were to buy one-way!!???

So i was thinking why not just buy the round trip and not use the return flights!?

Anyone else do this, or know of some reason why this would NOT be a good idea?

We did that. And if you'll play around with return dates, you might find a lower fare. Try a return mid-week in October for example, which is out of the typical summer tourist season.

If you do the round trip, when he gets to the US, call the airline and let them know you won't be using the return leg of the trip - they may be able to give you credit for travel in the future on the same destination.

Thanks everyone! I think so long at its LEGAL we'll be buying the ROUND TRIP... and forgetting about the return! Its so remarkable how much cheaper it is for the round trip?? Beyond me, but whatever works to get him here without going broke!

And then it would even be bonus if we could get credit towards any future flights or something! We'll have to see if that works...

HAPPY TIMES AHEAD inshaAllah!! :D
