No hermano, we're in lovely and rainy Seattle. Though I would move to UC Berkeley in a flash if they offered me a job, I must say.

That's right. I had Berkely on my mind, but somehow that didn't seem correct. That is an interesting town, and an even more interesting campus.

I would LOVE to be recruited by them, but so far, nothing appealing. It must be a conspiracy

I imagine it is tough. A lot of professors that were not offered tenure ended up teaching a little farther north, on the smaller campuses, like SSU, and SRJC, two schools I went to. It was hard for them to adjust, losing their godhood, when placed into smaller, more intimate, and vocal classrooms. You are talking about two schools with a high percentage of reentry students.

*Sigh* Len, I'd love to teach at a university but alas they don't want me with my piddly MA. I have no choice but go back for my Phd if I want to teach college. The downside is, I really don't want to go back for a Phd. I'd rather go back for another Master's (actually, an MFA)....

Guess I can't qualify to be a librul academic then!

Yep. An interesting enviroment. I loved SSU. I had some classes in my degree field with less than ten students. There was like eight students at the Math department graduation party. It was almost a family enviroment, see the same people in your classes over and over again.
