Malrothien, do tell!

Thanks my fellow Commies. I feel like #######, but it helps to get support. I really do need it.

Jundp....at 9, that is a tough call. Let us be positive and prayful that this treatment will improve Finney's quality of life ! Keep us posted.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

It's always a tough call, I think. Patrick is being very patient with me about this (he is NOT a cat lover) but I just couldn't euthanize without at least trying something other than antibiotics.

I'm sorry you are suffering too :(

Actually, I do not believe in euthanization, as the Good Book says do not take a life....however in cases where the animal is extremely suffering I suppose it has to be done. I know my dog was finally realizing he could no longer hang on because of me and actually seemed to communicate, " Mom, please help me see Paradise" .

Yes, you have to TRY, jundp.

The other option, later if it turns out that the surgery doesn't help his medical issues, is a cat rescue organization here. I don't know if they will take him because he's in a loving home already, but perhaps in this situation, if it appears he's going to need thousands more dollars of medical care...

This is exactly how I feel! In June, my kitty got very, very sick. For a week she would just lay in her spot, not move, and not pay any attention to us. We thought we were going to walk into the house with her passed. Well, I took her to the vet. I couldn't just do nothing! We were all prepared to let her go, but on that night, I just couldn't do it. $900 later, my baby is back home as normal and healthy as can be.
