is there a difference between a 'heart attack' and 'cardiac arrest'?

Amby?

Daniel

:energy:

yeah there is. when it first came on the news they said heart attack but hours later they changed it to cardiac arrest. cardiac arrest is when the heart actually stops.

A heart attack is caused by a circulation or plumbing problem in the heart.<LI>Sudden Cardiac Arrest is caused by an electrical problem in the heart.

oooh you rawk woman!

same result but different reason.

the heart stops due to:

(attack) cloggage in the arteries etc...

(arrest) no electrical pulse

thanks!

Just seen a headline that says police are looking for the doctor, could there be foul play? Maybe he was giving him stuff he shouldnt have been, this will be interesting.

 noooooooo I'm not a dr yet. I just know all sorts of random stuff about the body.

Close enough. Start the thread, you don't have to call yourself a doctor. Just say you're an expert on all the nooks and crannies and orifices and extensions of the human body.

That's what I hate about taking all those anatomy/physiology classes. What's the f*cking point? No one is going to understand ####### you're talking about if you tell them they tore their supraspinatus or some #######. Why not just say hey you tore a small muscle in your shoulder.

WORD.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

What I hated the most in anatomy classes (I had to take them for Psychology School, which I was in for 3 years before switching to Law) was brain anatomy. Who cares what all those gyros and fissures the brain has!??!?! I know I was supposed to know but they all pretty much look the same!

Jacko had a heart attack

Again! Heard on the news last night he had one yesterday too. Gosh two days in a roll? Poor guy, but they didn't call it a heart attack, said his heart was arrested, but didn't say what for.
