What he's talking about in SF are essentially cliches - anti-government types rebelling against various forms of totalitarian government. While that is sometimes a theme - the overarching idea of SF is to explore how technology shapes human experience.

Oddly enough its the total opposite in TV SF.

I did it once to a guy who ran a local newspaper, back when we were living in CA.

He'd written an editorial piece expressing sympathy for the immigration protests in LA - via the premise that he himself was actually an immigrant because he'd moved from New York to CA and could therefore, relate
