Hi everyone...I'm new here and through doing searches into my AOS interview I saw this site and thought I would ask for some help. Okay...maybe first I will give you a little background about me!

I am Canadian and met my now husband while we were working on cruise ships. We were together for almost 3 years before we got engaged and filed the K1 visa application. When I went back home to wait for processing I found out I was pregnant with our son. We waited a long time, but in February 2006 we had our interview and I arrived in Miami later that month with our son to reunite our family! We got married at the courthouse in March and filed our paperwork for the AOS, EAD, AP at the end of that month.

I have already received my AP and am waiting for my EAD. We received a NOA yesterday that we will have our INITIAL AOS interivew on August 18th in Miami. I was wondering what to expect at this interview, as my best friend, who also went through this process, received her conditional status last month without any type of interview...

I appreciate any help that anyone may have.

I am nervous only because I thought we wouldn't have this interview until our 2 year mark and we have just started our joint finances in the last 2 months. I hope this is going to be enough! We are having our wedding reception back in Canada in October so I won't have any pictures of that. I do have pictures from our small ceremony though.

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide!

Hi, welcome

I dont think you will have too much to worry about, you need proof of your relationship, and I d say your son will be perfect. Anything you have showing that you are living together as a married couple, such as health insurance, joint bank accounts, even travel you have taken together can all be used to show you have a valid marriage, also photos. There is lots of information on the site, and you may be able to search for others interviews to get more ideas.

Congrats on getting to an interview so quickly, Miami must have really speeded? up (got quicker)

cheers

Good luck on the interview! :)

I guess your best friend was just one of the few lucky ones who wasn't asked to attend an interview. Just bring in as much proof of relationship as you can.
