I am the beneficiary and I am actually going to be filling out the forms and have more knowledge of all of this, so my spouse, the sponsor, is going to just sign what I send him, and send or email me details each time we get a notice of action.

In this case, do we need to fill out the DS-3032? From what I can see, it is only for those who's USC spouse (sponsor) is filling out all the forms for the beneficiary as well.

Interesting.

I would have thought that if you didn't want an agent you wouldn't have to fill it out. If I were you I'd call NVC and ask. I know if the roles were switched in my case and I were the beneficiary I would want to be the one to be getting all the correspondence.

An agent is appointed because the funds to pay the fee bills must be drawn from a bank on American soil in American dollars. Most prospective immigrants don't have a bank account yet so that's why an American agent is necessary. And it's not just the agent getting all of the information. When the time comes you'll give NVC both of your email addresses and you'll both get copies of everything.

And yes, mrsemcee you've definitely got to relax. You're going to go crazy long before this wait is over if you keep going at this rate! Sit back, keep rereading the LingChe shortcuts- they've got 99% of what you need. Keep reading through the forums. Give it a few months and then if you've still got questions about NVC that'll be the time to ask. It could all be different 5-6 months from now- who knows? Maybe all this progress with emailing us the documents will extend to zapping them right into our brains by then hehe.
