I haven't been following the service centers lately, but typically there is no bias regarding country of origin at the service centers. Different embassies work differently and that can be unfair.

I don't think there's a bias against anyone... I do believe it is easier & possibly faster for Canadians, but I don't think it's any slower for Brazilians than for the rest of us... we've all been waiting for what seems like an eternity :) Best wishes & I hope a speedy approval for you... as for me, we've been waiting for our NOA2 since April 27 thru the California Center... but we know our day will come... eventually

Are you serious?????

Try being married to a Nigerian from a Muslim country.

The problem is Vermont, not being Brazilian.

Does anyone else feel like there is a bias against Brazillians? I see Canadians being approved quickly and Brazillians waiting forever. I am soooooo frustrated with the Vermont center!

Yeah, seriously. You have no problems whatsoever!!! There are countries that have to go through a lot of extra steps (like additional security checks and whatnot) like man countries in the middle east, but Brazil is NOT one of those countries.

And like others have pointed out there is no bias whatsoever at the service centers in the US, but once your application gets to the embassy in the home country of your fiance (in this case Brazil) then it might be slower there than if he/she was Canadian. BUT, and this is key here, this is not because they are Brazilian and not Canadian, it is because there is a different set of staff working at the Brazilian embassy than at the Canadian one and that's just how things go.

Seriously, you applied through Vermont (because you had too) and that's just how things work. Some applications get put in one box and others in another box (not based on country) and it's the luck of the draw when those boxes are picked up! You are WITHIN RANGE. You wont get sympathy on here for complaining until you are out of range...and you definitely wont get sympathy because you think *Brazilians* have to wait longer than others!!
