they do say that opposites attract... initially. however, they've found out that after a while, the people who stay together the longest are the ones that are the most similar.

this is soooo true

Well I didn't know how to answer that...because we are quite a lot alike except in a major way.....Although I understand I may not live to see tomorrow, does not mean I can't dream about the future or make plans.....inshAllah!!! You ALL know what I'm talking about....lol

We met in person about 10 months after we started talking online. We're similar in many ways, though there are some differences which I appreciate most of the time. :D We were able to talk daily before he came here. In fact, I think there were days we talked more then than we do now (but I definitely prefer this arrangement!).

I met hubby online in Aug of 2005.

We were not exclusive in the beginning of the online thing.

It wasn't until April 2006 (8 months later) that I decided to persue the relationship further and I went to meet him in Sept. 06.

We share some similiar interests.

We are very different due to the cultural differences and the adjustment has been a little choppy, but getting better.

When we were online, any time throughout the relationship, it was all the time.

For him it was a matter of going to a cafe and having the money to sit there a long time.

I had the computer in my home so whenever he could he was on and we spent all our time online.

For me, after work until the time I went to sleep.

We have always been inseparable.

Even if we spent hours online we would continue on the phone for another hour or 2.

I have to say I am glad those days are gone.

It was very tiring being attached to my computer that way. It was my lifeline and my love.

We even would bicker and fight over petty things or nothing at all.

There were alot of nights I wish he would just understand I worked all day and I just need to lay down, veg out, watch t.v. or just do something I like to do.

It's hard when you are the one who is busy and has a "life", family and obligations to occupy you and the one you love doesn't, they only have you.

Amen to that. lol

I think it's important to be similar on the "big" issues, like how you see your future and morals. However the other differences are what makes it fun. I certainly wouldn't have wanted to marry someone exactly like me who thinks the same as I do. We have a great time talking about our opinions and my husband is having a great time acclimating to the US. As of today, he has been here for 1 week!
