Hi there,

My husband and I are still waiting for our NOA2- received our NOA1 back at the start of June, and had a touch mid September, but since then, nothing. Really not sure what the hold up is, our case seems straightforward. Do I have to wait exactly 5 months before I can call customer services and chase this?

Any advice much appreciated as getting a little frustrated now!

I think you reached 5 months in this month, You should contact with them and ask about your case. If no good answer from them contact your cong man.

Now is when you want to get your Senator/Congressperson/etc involved, if you haven't been approved yet. It takes them (your representative) a while to get and process your information, so starting the process now is for the best. That way, by the time they're ready to inquire for you, you'll be right at the cusp at which point USCIS will have no excuse. Hopefully it won't come to that, but I've found that you can never be too careful in these situations.
