hey guys,

i know a lot of you are in bed at the moment, but being from Australia, i am up and i am really stressing. i hate to put a downer on the exciting June filers news of so many NOA2s.. but i am starting to stress about my situation.

i havent really discussed it much in detail, but basically, my husband hasnt been employed by an actual employer since 2006 Tax was done. he still lodged for 07 and 08 and put down "odd jobs" and his income was realllllly low, like under $5,000.00 but anyway, the point is, we have a co sponsor, his dad, sorted out, but i am pre filling the I-864 and I-864A so i can get things moving quickly once the NOA2 comes in and i have come to a point where i am really stressing.

his dad is retired, and that is fine and all, but the reason my husband doesnt have a job is because he moved back home to care for his dad. his dad has bad diabetes and other health issues so my hubby is at home full time caring for him and helping his mom too. his dad really should be in care, but isnt, and so my hubby stays home and cares for him, does all the yard work (big property) and any cooking, cleaning etc. its a full time carer role, but basically, he has no income. his mother just pays for all food and he obviously doesnt pay rent or anything.. he just lives there and they pay for whatever he needs.

once i get there, hubby and i will be living there til i find work, then we will move out and hubby will probably get work again, and his dad will by that stage be in some kind of, at least, part time care at a facility, or in home care will be organised.

ok, so the thing is... the immigration dudes dont care about this. im sure!

all they care is we have income...

so, the co sponsor thing.. is his father. and he is retired of course, and receives a $70,000.00 approx. per annum income from his old employer he retired from, he used to be a biologist, so was earning good money... and he also has stocks and a house he owns.. so thats fine.

but the problem is, will the immigration people think its bad that my hubby has no income at all really for 07 and 08, and is still unemployed and not receiving unemployment benefits at all?

on top of this, will they think it strange that the co sponsor who is his father, is also someone who my husband has to care for (do i even tell them this??) and if so, will they think, because he is retired and in a wheelchair, that it is not enough as a co sponsor, even though he makes a lot of money from his retirement income?

i am so F**KING stressed about this. its got to a point now where i really dont know who to turn to.

my poor husband is so stressed too as he is trying to do his parents a favour by looking after his dad as long as possible so he doesnt have to move into an old folks home, even though he is only in his 60s.. he has so many issues that my husbands mom alone couldnt look after him.

god.. i dont know what to do.

i guess i just lodge it when the time comes and they will ask questions if need be... but i am just so worried that they will look at this as more of a "oh your husband/petitioner is out of work" and "co sponsor is also retired.. hmmmm" - is this enough income if it is not coming from an actual working wage.. more so a retirement income?

sorry, im blabbing. no one probably knows the answers.. but i just needed to talk to someone.

i was crying at work today and i have had a few sick days lately and my boss is getting suss im sure, and i just feel like i have so much on my shoulders.

i am sorry, donna, i do not know much about co-sponsors, but i believe all they would want to know is if the sponsor has adequate income. looks like enough for a family of 4, which is essentially what they need to know. (F) for your father in law, and props to your husband. let's u know what kind of caring man you married to

thanks K, that means a lot.

it's been tough for us. when i visited in the US on the visa waiver (before we got married) i stayed with them for a couple of months, and believe me, its a full time job looking after his dad.

i hope it all works out. his dad covers enough of a wage, like you said, so hopefully thats enough!

Donna, honey, don't worry! I don't have any US income since 2005. Just as long as your FIL makes enough money (which he does) you'll be fine.

I think what matters to USCIS is if the co-sponsor meets the income level which is $18,200 (i think), and if he's dad gets 70grand, that's like 3-4 times more than the poverty guidline. I think everything will be fine in your case. Don't lose hope and think positive. =)

This is just a thought, you said it's your husband's father, but what if his dad pays for his service? I know that doesn't sound good, but that will be a good source of income too. (oh i don't mean to force the dad to pay his son) hehehe

Hey,

Don't worry about your husband being unemployed. I mean if your co sponsor has enough income according to the poverty guidelines than there should be no problem at all. I don't have a job either and I am a student. But if I can find a sponsor than I don't think they would care if I have a job or not. Just include your father-in-law's tax return for the last three years, and the w2. Now that my case is approved, I need to find a sponsor. LOL. But I am happy. Hope you get your approval soon.

congratulations, zeha and malka (i told you it was coming soon after your i-129f ):dancing::dance:

Hi Donna,

You shouldn't worry about it. Just like what they said, as long as your husband + co-sponsor's income is more than 125% of the poverty. that would be ok. cheers! :D

I have a list with about ten different shots on it from this website.

Who has a list of what's needed??? I never had hepatitis shots and the list says you need A and B shots done, which are three each so there's some of my shots, plus tetanus and the cervical cancer shots, and flu... Etc etc.

Am I the only one doing this?

Donna, I haven't checked the list but it seems to me like you are getting a lot of shots. I don't know if cervical cancer shots is needed or not. I think cervical shots is only taken by women under 21. I think tetanus might be required and hepatitis A & B.

i wrote this in another post but luckily i found this out before my doctors appt tonight. i am seriously feeling silly right now, but luckily i didnt get ALL The shots. hehe. to think my GP was going to let me have them ALL!

**************

i just found out the answer myself!!

a lot of the vaccines on this list are not age appropriate!

this is a very handy piece of writing showing the technical stuff for the doctor... but it shows each vaccine and what is and isnt appropriate.

http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dq/pdf/ti_vacc.pdf

i am so glad i found this, i was about to get jabbed for about 6 more things i didnt need to!!!

WOOOT! AWESOME! i am so happy for youuu!!! :D

I'm confused though, I thought you had to get your interview letter before getting the shots?

you would have to go to one of those panel approved physicians listed on the us embassy's site and have them do the checkout procedure and shots..

when my wife called them about it, they said that they wanted to see the interview letter before letting her do the checkup and get vaccines?

See "About Me" for full timeline.

Baltar, she doesn't have a record of her vaccinations, so she had a titre test done. With that, she can compare it to the panel physician list and get the shots ahead of time. You cannot have the medical exam until you have the interview letter.
