Good morning fellow June filers.

Bored at work and having my first cup of tea.

Had a funny conversation with my boss yesterday. I've been really throwing myself into work to stop myself sitting thinking about this wait and he said it's a real shame I'm leaving as he hasn't seen me work so well in the last 18 months! I did remind him I didn't really want to leave and would work remotely for him, but he's still not biting :D

It's nice to see us moving up Igor's list. C is over with me soon for a week and we're going to start going over the nvc shortcut info to start getting stuff ready for that. I am seriously in the good books right now too, I booked her a trip to Paris without telling her then surprised her with it :) Could only afford 2 days but she's always wanted to go there.

In regards to changing names between USCIS and NVC I did it, my passport change of name was free in Australia as I've been married less than 12 months...

I don't believe it matters, imagine how many people do it mid process...

I'm going to supply copies of my old passport and new one so they can note my name change on both...

:)

good luck!

GOOD NEWS!!! I was bored at work (I know, surprisingly, hehehe). Anywho, I was going through Igor's list of the top 10 people on the list. Some of them have already gotten their green card, and some of them have not logged on to VJ since 2008. So, I said all that to say this, you can take at least 10 off of your number list. I am sure their are more, I just haven't taken the time to review all of March and April filers. I am on overtime  Maybe tomorrow during normal working hours :innocent:

ok, through april, take off an additional 8 more couples. for a whopping total of drum roll, please...

EIGHTEEN!!! That is for those that have actually received their NOA2s just haven't updated

I did not count the ones that haven't been seen on VJ for months, so who knows if they were approved or not. I just had a strong feeling that people weren't updating their timelines like they should. help us who are months behind the current processing. give us hope, So with the definite 18, we just jumped on Igor's list. I did not go into May's

Hey Kaushalia,

I had a question. i havent changed my name to my married name yet. I got married in a foreign country and I am a US citizen. I have already filed the 130 using my maiden name and now waiting on the petition to be approved. Anyway is showing a marriage certificate enough to change my name at the social security office as well as the passport? I was wondering how you did it, because it seems like you got married in India.

I am really nervous I am gonna have problems with this, but I mean I didn't get married in the United States, and I didn't change my marital status, I was just waiting for husband to be here.

hey. yeah, i took the marriage license to the local ss office. they were unsure if it would work, seems like people in my hometown do not often marry in another country  it was accepted there, and i received the new card within a week. from the ss office, i went to our dmv, with my marriage certificate and letter from the ssn office. received my license then and there. from the dmv i went to my bank, and showed them my new license. they updated everything, and i received my new debit card within 2 weeks (i actually received the wrong one first with my maiden name, called customer service, and received a corrected card in a couple of days). for utilities, satellite dish, etc, i just called them on the phone. did not need to show them proof. i also changed my name on my lease, since it was due right before i filed. i cheated and changed my name at work before i left for india so when i came back, i had a new name  sorry i gave you more info than you asked for. i was just on a roll
