I just filed I-130's for my wife and son yesterday(June 23/09), and I'm looking to talk to anyone who is currently filing for their IR-1's, or has in the last year or two, just to talk to, general questions, anxieties, etc... In about two weeks we'll know if our plans are going to change drastically....

sorry just to clarify, that's people who filed for their IR-1's DCF in vancouver and have to do the montreal interview.....

Welcome to VJ and to DCF filing. Your wife will interview in Montreal. I hear the waiting times from Packet 3 to interview are about 4 months. Good luck and ask away!

Hi Len,

Thanks, I need some kind of positive feedback right now, all I've been hearing from friends and relatives lately is horror stories, it's almost like people think we're trying move to the moon or something......

Sure, at the top of this page you will see a link called 'my assistant' - it's really handy for looking up stuff like your last 10 posts etc

Anyway, once you click on that you will see an option for Edit/Add my timeline.

Hey when I did my timeline, I didn't select a service center because I don't know which one is mine, yet somehow the texas service center popped up on the timeline........is that a glitch?

ok got my timeline started.....now, the waiting....my wife is freaking out about going across the border....

Why is your wife freaking out?

Because we're planning on heading down to the US in less than two weeks, as soon as my US passport gets here, and she'll be coming over the border seperately from me as a visitor, and she doesn't think she'll make it across....which of course there is a chance, but she's got a permanent address in Canada, she'll have a return ticket, various paperwork showing her clearly living in canada, and hopefully she'll have her NOA1, maybe even NOA2 before she goes, so the border guards shouldn't turn her away. Even if they do, it just means we stay in canada until she gets her visa in montreal, then go.
