I am a U.S. citizen who became pregnant while living in a foreign country with a non-U.S. citizen. I am living in the U.S. for the remainder of my pregnancy and the father is applying for a visitor's visa to attend the birth of the baby. We were told that if he discoles that this is the reason for his visit, he will be rejected as there is a higher risk of him not returning to his country. Does anyone think this might be accurate?

He does have several siblings with U.S. Citizenship residing in the U.S and they can send an invitation letter to him, saying he will be visiting family and simply doing "tourist" type stuff. It seems this might be our best option. He does have a long term job to return to, property ownership, and vacation approval from his employer, but also is already on file for a # for a immigration visa.

Anyone been through anything similar?? any suggestions??

Input would be helpful! Thanks!

This is a common topic: http://www.visajourney.com/faq/k1k2visa-application.html#4.6 (Applies to all visa types)

Note it may not even make it to the POE, can be rejected at the consulate and visitor's visa denied.

His sister filed an immigrant visa petition and he is waiting on a visa number. I know that it is possible to get a visitor's visa while waiting on this process, I just don't know how difficult it is compared to just getting a visitor's visa without the other process already taking place.

Why not forget the sibling visa and you file an I-129F for a fiancee visa?

He may be waiting some time to get a visa number, NVC is assigning numbers to family forth (Sibling) cases filed October 1998.
