Good morning everyone! Thanks for the coffee charles. I was at the hospital very early this morning and so didn't log on to serve up coffee. Everything went very well, no problems, no polyps, don't have to come back now for 10 years for that again! Phew! I was SO hungry though, not having had anything to eat since Tuesday evening. Gene took the day off today to get me to and from hospital, and to take care of me. I was knocked out, and can't drive today due to the anesthetic. As soon as he picked me up however and we got home, he had the coffee on!

I thought this was appropriate for MY morning coffee anyway.

Good to hear Carla! Glad that is over with!

Welcome to the US, Joyce! Have a safe flight and enjoy the lovely warm weather in SC - that is if you guys ever go outside over the next few days! :D

 Well, I can say now, that I don't like going outside, and we WON"T be eating on the patio like I hoped!! However, October should be nice to do that, and start some gardening...

Other than the weather, ( I'm sure Tim ordered that just for me!) everything so far is great. Lots to do before the wedding yet, but seems to be coming along. Can't wait to join the AOS'ers. Oh...sounds like I was calling them something else! sorry....

Someone buzzed our apt today, I answered, they said they had forgotten their key, could I let them in. I was on the phone, just walked away and sat down - ignoring them.

Then they buzz again <_<

So, of course, since we are right by the stairs, I see them leave, two kids, a girl around 11 and a boy around 9. I see them walk to the next building and do the same thing. I go outside and say in my best firm Motherly voice "what are you doing"??

The look on their faces was priceless

They both just stood there like they wanted to run but they were all embarrassed and couldn't speak.

So finally the boy says "we are trying to get in to look around the apartment because we are bored" something to that effect.

Anyway, I gave them the - these are peoples homes with their families, children etc etc and told them to leave right now.

Hehehehe, Trailmix - good for you! Carla, I'm glad everything was fine with the procedure and its results. You'll be back to normal by tomorrow, no worries:-). TimandJoyce - yeah, by October it will be lovely. Actually, I find that the heat and humidity begin to let up by the end of August or early September so you should get some great weather in September as well. Fall here seems to go on forever which is something I didn't expect and really enjoy. Spring is the same way - instead of just 2 weeks you can expect at least 2 or 3 months.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I just got back from this place. It was AMAZING! Omg if you're in Philadelphia and want a great food and drink experience, go there. Service is exceptional and the atmosphere is great.

I just opened the link to that page and the name was kind of squished up before it opened fully so I saw 'barf' something and i'm thinking what the heck??

Kind of an unfortunate choice of name but glad it was really nice!

Good morning everyone! Beautiful weather we're going to be having in the next week...cool nights, mild days. This has been quite the summer with temps not reaching in the triple digits one day! Wow! I can't wait to open my windows at night. I'm heading to the book fair this weekend, and we're maybe going to do some geocaching. Other than that, perhaps soon good reading!

That place looks awesome Sprailenes. What did you get to eat? Gene would love it because his favourite children's book was Ferdinand The Bull.

Good morning!

We got a cheese and jelly tray with assorted cheeses and jellies... then I got this little pan of garlic shrimp, and smoked salmon croquettes. It was all meant to be shared food. The servings were quite small though, but it was amazing. For dessert we shared this ganache chocolate thing with whipped mint creme on top. Soooo good!

I'll post a picture of the area we were in later. It's on my husbands iphone, I'll get him to email it to me asap.

Oh and glad your colonoscopy is over, my mother has to have one every year because she has polyps. Sucks so hard I know!

Here is the picture of the outside area of the restaurant. It's in Northern Liberties area. This is what I love about Philly, we got off the subway near Fishtown and it was kind of drab and then you turn down a street and you get this. Three blocks up from that nice area is a complete ghetto... so strange to me.
