it has been so nice and quiet here the last few days.... the neighbors have definitely moved out

Yeah for you! I don't mind noise once in a while, we're all allowed to have friends over and speak a little louder... but, once in a while. Otherwise, it's disrespectful and annoying, and :bonk:

yeah this definitely wasn't once in awhile..lol

it was almost every night for the last few months...

they left behind a lot of their ####### though.. there is a couch and some chairs and a bunch of other stuff sitting outside their place

Well, apparently they were not respectful people... so, it's kind of normal for them to continue their disrespect while moving I guess.

(oh, and the picture in your signature reminds me of the Big Cat Diary show we were watching during our vacations - yeah... pouring rain kept us inside a little too often!)

Is it wrong that I'm excited for the hurricane coming this way? I think its just something different. Although my brother and sister in law are arriving on the 15th, so it better be gone by then and beaches looking pristine.

I love hurricanes. Just make sure your generator works well in advance. Trying to get a new one just before a hurricane shows up is a painful experience.

Generator? Ack. We don't have a generator - time for a Lowe's stop. I am sure BermyCat you've been through a few hurricanes!

Hopefully it will only be a tropical storm by Monday when it finally hits.

I still remember Hurricane Andrew vividly. I was still in high school and visiting the university that I would eventually attend. I wanted to see the whole area, so I went a 8 days early for the orientation and tours. About the third day I was there, I noticed people boarding up all their windows and starting to leave. I had never experienced a hurricane, so I really had no clue what to do. It was probably the most horrifying experience of my life, far more terrifying than the 7.0+ earthquake that would hit a few years later. I saw 2x4 timber go through hotel walls, cars get lifted up like nothing, and houses pitched miles from their foundations. I was a 17 year old kid all alone in the storm shelter at the ramada hotel with a few staff members and about half a dozen other guests trapped there. After it all settled, I thought everything was going to be OK after that. But of course, I was naive. Tainted water supply, depleted food supply, and every store gouging prices was unreal. I ended up getting in a cab and going back to Atlanta and sleeping in the airport terminal for 2.5 days. For me, it was one of those indelible moments in your life that you never ever forget.

Good morning all! I'm trying to get my lap top set up before I move, and of course, everything has to be installed again! my favourites aren't even saved, but bookmarked. Yeesh, just another thing to slow me down before I move.. Thankfully I have time to figure things out!
