No he doesn't remember my whole scenario - about the potatoes or bread or whatever it was. It's really kooky! Must have been one of those real dream dreams lol

It's funny, I was just looking at the pictures from that night and here are these three (lovely!) women sitting in Florida as pale as any Canadian

Oh my gosh...well, call ME Crazy Carla!!! I thought you were talking about what Gene ordered the night before he got his tummy ache when we went to a local pub for supper. Not the night we all met in Florida.:lol: I'm a ditz!!! So, that's what you mean about Gene's potatoes..and how Mike might know.:lol:

YES, Gene couldn't find his potatoes that night, and had to ask the waitress. I have tears streaming down my face here laughing now. Gene had the corned beef, garlic mashed potatoes and cabbage.

YOU WEREN'T DREAMING! :lol::lol:

Yes, we were very pale. Me more so I'm sure since I live in the "North".

Good morning all!

So, I don't expect anyone to understand this situation I am in, it's quite silly and shouldn't be a "situation" at all...BUT I follow a particular band around.

No I am not a 'groupie' and I can't explain why I do what I do... but when I got into them they had already broken up and I have always been extremely passionate about them. I am even a mod on their official board, I collect their music, I have rare items other fans would pay me big bucks for.

I consider myself to be their biggest fan. That being said... they are playing at a festival literally down the road from my mom's house in August. I was going to leave on Monday August 31st, but was thinking I could leave on Friday and make it up for this festival.

BUT MY HUSBAND STANDS IN MY WAY!

We have a wedding that weekend... his family. He said that we HAVE to go. I don't see why, I am not particularly close to this family and whenever we do attend weddings with them no one talks to us and I don't think they'd notice if I am not there. He says my values are skewed... you see in MY family, we don't always go to eachothers weddings, we wear our comfy clothes to eachothers funerals... thats how we roll.

But I understand, I live with my husband now, I have attended a few weddings, I dress up and do what his family does. I have mildly conformed. :P

BUT this band means the world to me. More than one of his cousin's weddings.

I mean if it were my BIL getting married, I'd understand. But he doesn't even like this cousin and him and his mom always bash them.. I just don't get it.

Ahh I am torn! TORN I SAY!

By the way the band is the Pixies... and only a few people would comprehend the absolute love I have for them. :P

I have only seen them 8 times and I need to make it to the double digits in order to die a happy woman and I am afraid that Kim Deal and Frank Black will fight again and it will all go to hell like it did in the early 90s!

And yes they're going to tour after this festival, yes I could just wait for that... but I can't and don't you dare try to talk sense into me! :P

It's an unhealthy obsession. He knew about it when he married me. :P

Donne moi une poptart!

It's more him having to deal with his disgruntled mother actually. She insists we attend all family functions even though she doesn't like them. It's his dads side and to be honest I like them. They do know how to have a good time. BUT yea it would apparently "look" bad if I wasn't.

Oh and I could go for FREE! Holla!

No reason why your husband can't go to the wedding himself is there? I'd opt out of the wedding and go to the concert. Who gives a ff what his mother thinks. ( I can't believe I said ff!!!!!!) I've never "sworn" on a board before!:lol:
