I love how the Postmen have little cart here. They are so cute! And it must be so much less physically grueling than the poor guys in Ontario that carry the giant bags over their shoulders.

Seriously, where does the time/days go!! I can't believe it's almost August!

Interesting: Queen Elizabeth has appointed former prime minister Jean Chrétien to the Order of Merit, placing him in the exclusive ranks of such figures as Albert Schweitzer, Mother Teresa and Nelson Mandela.

Ours drive little vans. She's always on the cell phone and never paying attention to what she's doing. She almost hit me coming out of a side street the other day. She's always leaving the little doors on the mailboxes open so that when it rains the mail gets soaked. And, trust me..... it deluges here. You'd think they'd care. Not to mention that it's all open for everyone and their dog to see when they walk by. icon2.gif

ok so my hubby is on blood pressure medication and for the last while we have been paying a 10 dollar copay to get this prescription.. a few months ago the company my hubby works for changed to a different health insurance and now the last couple of times he has refilled his prescription he hasn't had to pay any copay.. I checked out the health insurance's website and it says we should be paying a 10 dollar copay..

I am not complaining just confused :P

Some insurance companies, to get people to use generics drugs, won't charge u anything for up to a year!! or they just made a mistake, lol

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Marilyn! I've been having the same thing with my BCP's at Walgreen's lately. We're also with Cigna and every time I go and get a prescription it's free. I don't understand it at all. It's been antibiotics and BCP's. My BCP's aren't the generic brand either. I am confused every single time considering in Canada I always paid for my prescriptions! My husband just laughs at me and says that because we pay every week the prescriptions are discounted. He also tells me that some insurance companies give your BCP's for free because it's cheaper for them to pay for those than all the care you get if you have a baby! :jest:

I just find it odd because even though we changed health insurance companies , the plan is still the same and what we pay is just a few dollars more a month

and I love the fact that cigna switched over my BCP prescription without me having to call in to do it.... I get my BCP's through mail order.. with United Healthcare it cost me about 20 bucks for a 3 month supply.. mot sure yet how much it costs with Cigna though..

I agree Marilyn. It is very strange! If I find anything out, I'll let you know! In the meantime, I'm enjoying not having to pay and trying not to worry too much about how expensive it will be later! :P

We had similar things happen with my husband's cholesterol medication. Sometimes its a $10 copay, then it's a $4 co-pay, then it has been 'free' twice and we've never received a further invoice. It seems to have stabilized at $10 now for the last few times. Weird. I've had the same things happen with my medication - the co-pay seems to vary and my copay's tend to be high - $30 and $50 for some of my meds :-(.

When I was at my physio appointment today the woman who submits the insurance claims say that there isn't a set amount that they claim for - they have to 'negotiate' with each insurer to get the best payment that they can with their standard fees with the insurer trying to pay the least they can so they honestly don't know what the final amount they will end up getting is, just that I shouldn't have to pay more than the co-pay - although there is no guarantee about that either - it's up to the insurance company to decide. Lovely!

Profit driven health care.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
