It's been a while so I'm just wanted to drop in to say hi. I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Years. We spent Christmas day with three couples, all of which had one USC spouse and one immigrant. Now I know where all the good Chinese restaurants in town are.

Phil and I moved to Dallas a few weeks ago so things have been hectic. He's sorting stuff out with his job/thesis research but the Army Corps of Engineers bureaucracy is making life difficult at the moment. I'm still looking for work.

Maybe that'll be enough to make em quit. I know it just made me regret having ever smoked at all. Ever.

My wedding ring just got here.

I got it from Overstock, since jewelry stores are just too expensive. We got my fiance's from there too. 70 dollars and it goes for like 600 elsewhere. (Dont know why though, it's just tungsun)

It's really pretty and cost about 240 dollars compared to the 400 I was going to pay for less carats in diamonds elsewhere.

I really, really wanted to try it on... but I can't get it on from my fingers swelling

Hi Catherine,

Good to see you back on line again. Moving can be very hectic - especially when you're driving with 3 cats (been there, done it -phew!). Good luck with the job search. I hope Dallas treats you really well - it sounds like you've already got a start on friends and good Chinese restaurants, although I'll miss our visits at Swapna's Indian Restaurant.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

just remember, the next time someone talks about lighting one up, it's not a cigarette they are talking about. :P

That's nice that your ring arrived, pretty exciting! Too bad about the fingers though.

You have no clue how dissapointed I am not being able to try it on. Haha.

Well, I'm sure it'll match my other ring fine.
