Being around my sister-in-law's newborn has me having strange dreams.

For the last three nights, I've had dreams that I'd given birth to a girl and she was crying and crying and no one went to tend her, and then I wake up looking around frantically for my child.

I'm scared, heh.

I've had dreams like that before, except I either wake up before giving birth or I dont see the baby when it's born. I had one dream about having twins but one of them was stillborn and my parents were trying to force me to get a C-section before the other one was full term.

I keep thinking they're bad omens.

Haha, thanks.

I was getting bored of Rhiann.

Actually, Rhiann is the screen name I used when I met my fiance.

Sometimes when I try to use it for other things it's taken, so my friend was like "How about Rhiannercakes", so I stuck with it.

hehehe awww Rhiannercakes!! My first thought was that it must be a nickname your fiance uses for you.

Huggle buggles is a phrase the husband and I have used since we started dating. Pretty corny, I know, I know. It used to make my little sister physically ill  It has now expanded to mean anything from "can I have a hug?" to "I love you"

Good morning everyone! I've been MIA for the holiday season. Gene took off the same time as well from work, and we had a really enjoyable holiday. Had some company, went out to a few events, basically just rejuvenated. I hope everyone else's New Year is off to a good start.

It's very cold here, and has been since the first day of the New Year. I don't like this! Here is morning coffee to warm you up.

Enjoy your day!

Hi Everyone,

Where I am in rural New York State, USA (near Buffalo, NY, by the way.)...It is currently...

18 degrees F...(way below freezing)...And with snow, snow, and more snow to come!! We'll be burried alive!

Brrr......

Typical January winter weather though....So it's not too unusual to expect such around here....

Though I have to wonder: How do they stand outdoor football in weather like this? Freezing fans and players!

We get the cold air and lake effect snow from nearby Canada....So yeah, it's all the same....North of the border, south of the border...

I don't mind the cold (it must be a Canadian thing)....

But I hate the high heating bills, despite keeping the heater at only 60 degrees F...

On the bright side: It is very beautiful to see the snow-capped mountains out my window, and thank goodness I have nice and helpful neighbours willing to help shovel our 50ft driveway for free..:)

Hope its not too cold and snowy where you are...

Sending some hot choco and warm thoughts to all!

Ant

Ah yes, the Winter heating bills.

This is why I'm a strong advocate for being nomadic (of sorts). (Idealistic I know, no need to tell me...hee, hee!)

South for the Winter and North for the Summer.

:star:

Hi Spirit! When it was the Blue Moon, I knew you'd re-appear, I could feel it in the air. Happy to see you around again friend. :D

That is truly sweet.

Thank you Mrs. Cat.

I miss connecting with all of you when I'm not swimming in the warmth of VJ.

Now can you tell everyone on Hawai'i that I am looking to house/pet/boat sit so I can get my a$$ down there?!

Hahahaha!

I'm not kidding....

Both my sisters are RN's, and gave birth in Fall of 2008. 1 did use a doula. Some hospitals do allow a Doula. My Maternity portion of my nursing career consists of only half a semester, thank go,lol but in that short time, saw a few child births go from natural to an emergency C section, and yes there are Dr's that prefer doing a C-section, so they make any excuse to do one! One may say a hospital is for the "sick" and for the most part that is true, BUT maternity is big $$$$, most of the rooms I have seen around here in the DC area are top notch! 1 would think they are staying in a hotel. Everyone has their own choices, as long as they make an educated 1 thats great.

I hear you.

It still is disconcerting to me that people pay to have a baby...and the exorbitant costs of US hospitals.

They had better treat each mom like a queen!

Ah, yes, there is no perfect place.

Having a baby in Canada may be "free", and it may not be the "nicest" place to do it.

I do not have experience having a baby, but at 17 years old I worked in Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal and saw too many things to not have a distrust of hospitals/doctors.

I was even in case rooms!

The nurses though were/are always top notch on every floor/department.

They just seem to know more and behave better.

Let's hear it for the nurses!

The border guard replies.."It's kind of like a passport for children coming to Canada...Each time they visit, they get a stamp. And if they have enough stamps, they can trade it in for a real moose!"
