You know what I hate? When someone posts a really long question then someone comes into the thread, quotes it, then replies. Like, you could just reply, we know who its directed towards... yeesh.

Hugglebuggles-Lol..I never knew that this was an "issue" here on vj.....

I usually hit the "quote" button when I reply....put the other person's quote above or below..and then reply accordingly...

Without the "quote" feature, I wouldn't be able to keep track of things and remember who I was replying to..There are so many posts here on VJ!

The only exception to the rule: When I am formating "lists" on other vj boards/forums..(such as the N-400 and/or I-751 boards)...Instructions there are "do not use the quotes"..since that messes up with the formating of the lists..

On that note...I don't like it when the lists are re-formatted oddly...Can't people read the instructions on the top/bottom of the lists?....

Oh one other thing about this area we are looking to move to, speaking of asian ingredients etc - I didn't realize it's like 2 blocks from Chinatown - I did notice when doing a street view that the banks had their signs in chinese and english - so this would be totally cool, lots of restaurants, including a thai restaurant a block away or so.

That would be awesome!

Jeebus Ant you're like an essay writer. :-/

Sprailenes-Thanks for the compliment I guess....

I can't help it....That's just the way I think and write.....

Lol..It sure came in handy during my "college/university" days......

(which I never finished...as I "wasted" my "tuition money" on the USCIS instead....go figure...)

No problems to write a long essay...But to write a simple sentence...uggh....

But now, essay writing is just another somewhat useless skill...lol....sigh...

They did it to stop those WALLS of quotes that some people do - this makes me happy

Yes, I did notice that change... I love it! I was one of the few that knew how to delete what I didn't want, but it sure made it confusing when replying to someone who didn't!!

I like the fast reply too, unless I need to quote someone, or respond to a cute post or something.

And Ant...never stop writing the way you do!! I LOVE it!! :)

Happy New Year everyone!

I made Tom Yum Goong, drank champagne, and went to bed at 10pm. Then I woke up feeling even worse. :crying: I am soooooooooo sick. Sick enough to wear my new pyjamas with sock monkey feet. Where is Sprailenes? I need to borrow her hat!

It is raining here. I wish I hadn't told my daughter to keep the Neo-Citran that she brought. :(

Oh Krikit, sorry to hear you are sick! There seems to be a lot of people sick right now :( . Monkey feet? Hehehehe - cute!

Well, we had your rain the last few days and cold fog almost all of yesterday, although it lifted enough by last night that the full 'blue' moon was able to shine through in a ghostly sort of way. It is sunny and windy here today and warmer than it has been in a long time - high 40s. We have another cold front coming through though - going into the 20s overnight for at least the next 10 days so we may get snow yet.

Joe and I spent New Year's Eve on line with friends from across the country in the chatroom where we actually met. We celebrated the arrival of 2 New Years, then went to bed before the next 3 arrivals (our furthest co-celebrant was in Alaska).

I hope 2010 (twenty-ten) is a great year for everyone.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I went to bed at 11:30pm.

We didn't even open the sparkling apple cider, oh well.

I join you in the sick boat, Krikit. Sinus pressure, congestion, and my stomach hurts from coughing so much. UGH. Here's to hoping we ALL get better soon!!!

I'm hoping everyone had a better start to their New Year than I did. Not only am I sick, but we got a phone call at 11:15 last night from my brother, and he proceeded to tell us he had gotten into a car accident!!! THANKFULLY he and his 3 friends are alright, but his car is completely totaled, and it doesn't look like the police are going to place the blame on him, despite the fact that he ran into the other car. The other car had a stop sign, but there was a huge snowbank on the corner, so the guy was moving into the intersection and my brother, who didn't have a stop sign as he was on the major thoroughfare, didn't have time to stop and WHAMMO.

It was sure a not so nice start to the New Year, but it really can only go up from here!!!! After all, my brother proposed to his girlfriend last night after the accident and she said yes!

(though, am I wrong to be a little sad that they're wanting to get married this year, too; and before me, even??? I'm ecstatic for them, but part of me is going "this was supposed to be my year!!"... I hate this feeling...)

That looks really, really good trailmix!!!

Hi Everyone,

Hope you all had a Happy New Year/New Year's Eve!...:)

To those of you who are sick...I hope you all get well soon (sending some thera-flu and hot choco your way...;)...)

As for my New Years/New Years Eve 2009/2010......Not a good start for me here..lol...

This is how I 'celebrated'....

Went to sleep at 10pm (was too tired to stay up to watch ####### Clark, the ball drop, or whatever else was on tv....)....

And then slept and woke up at 12am, 2am, 4am, 6am, 8am, 10am...(every 2 hours to feed and change the baby...)

Then my son bit me...(he's growing teeth now)......Ouch!

I predict another year of sleepless nights and days for me......

Oh the joys of parenthood!

Ant

P.S. Thanks for the compliments there, Timand Joyce... Likewise, I enjoy all writings here on vj! Keep on posting (and I'll keep on reading) Everyone!

And Ant...never stop writing the way you do!! I LOVE it!! :)
