It sure doesn't feel like New Year's. :(

What does new years typically feel like?

I've had two in a row that were quite atypical.

Montreal Interviewer: "What do you have in common with each other?"

Peachey: "We're REALLY weird."

Montreal Interviewer (incredulously to me): "Do you agree with that?"

<I think back to several days before the interview. Driving through the country, passing a field with cows...>

Peachey: "MOOOO! MOOOOO! Does this make me weird?"

Me: "No, well yes. Here, let me roll down the windows so they can hear you better!"

Peachey: "MOOOOO!!!!"

<back to interview>

Me: "Yes, yes I do."

It will later on, have a drink

Well, we put in our notice at this apartment building today. Yay! The thing is, I don't know that I have ever given notice anywhere when I didn't already have a new place lined up, it's a bit odd.

It feels like sparkling Christmas lights topped with snow, and fresh air and pine needles with cinnamon and fancy dresses with sparkly shoes.

We did that at my husband's former apartment..... gave them notice with nowhere to go. lol. I didn't like it much because I'm a worrier.

Anytime anyone on these forums mentions cinnamon, I'm going to have to chuckle a bit. Sorry sprainlenes.

We got snow this morning, so I can mail you a box with all the required elements in if it would help!

Last new years, I was a ball of nerves trying to come up with a good way to ask Peachey to marry me... This year, I'm staring at my computer screen trying to remember what I'm supposed to be working on for 24 more minutes before I go get married.

Maybe I'll feel like your new years next year.... Though I'm going to have to replace the dress with a suit... and uh... the shoes.. oh with a sparkly tie. That works!

:)

Just don't be late! :P

John was...all I remember is being worried because he was late, then I see his truck flying down the road, with the windows open, with just him in it, with the "Time Warp" blaring out of his speakers.

Funniest thing I think I have ever saw...and still make fun of him for to this day :D

Ok so we are looking for a place to rent now, so I posted an ad on kijiji, have had a few replies, all very nice etc etc - except this one guy - here are his emails:

"I have a place but you must be willing to move in Jan.15"

umm ok, so I write back and say, well that's not a problem, but why Jan 15th, is it a sublet - and ask for details.

"Hi It is a bridgeland condo 2 min from downtown also only 5 min to station and 1 min to busses it's 2 bed 1 bath need 1100 rent and u only pay electricity we pay water heat ect and we also pay tenant insurance also has parking stall and tons of street parking"

So, I write back, great, what street and avenue is it on...do you have any pictures (I specifically stated in the ad I wanted an address and pictures)

"Pictures don't give the property justice why don't you come by to see it Text me at"

Ok, i'm done with the conversation at this point, so I don't reply - but I get another email

"Do u have a phone number I can contact u at"

Now I don't find this exchange creepy or anything, I find it annoying and obnoxious. Also, when he mentioned the tenant's insurance they pay for - I knew which place it was because he has an ad on kijiji - I hope for his sake that it does look a million times better in person:
