We're debating about seeing that movie.

We have like 8 free movie tickets that we've had for about a year, and apparently getting more for Christmas... so we need to use them on something.

I'd probably go see the non 3D version though, I have a hard time with those 3D glasses cause of my existing glasses

Gawd, I generally hate 3D, especially those glasses cus it puts pressure around my ears and nose, giving me a headache. Thankfully, there wasn't any of the cheesy 1st generation 3D stuff (i.e. yoyo coming out of the screen to the audience, etc).

As much as I enjoyed it 3D, I think I would have enjoyed it if its 2D. I don't think you're missing out.

Where others fear to tread....

Darkchilde - I hear you - I hear you about the broad generalizations. I'm sure Rhiann can speak for herself, I personally didn't jump to any conclusions, I don't actually know what she really meant.

You are, of course, right - none of us need to venture in to the Phillipine forum or any other forum really, we choose what we view. However, what I wanted to say is, the other comments made were about how horrible it is that women from the Phillipines are spoken about in such a derogatory manner.

So while we can choose not to view these threads and can also choose not to speak out, what does that accomplish? Absolutely nothing. I personally wish you would post something like you just did in one of those threads.

I disagree about others not venturing there - we can and we should and we should speak out.

In these forums (as in VJ) it is (generally) the men marrying women from the Phillipines that are showing disrespect.

I agree, trailmix. If I read a lousy comment in there, ain't no one stopping me from going in there to check them. :-)

Well, if they're not the old school 3D glasses, I might change my mind.

Those old school ones are really... old.

Hubby and I went to see Avatar in 3D and it was FANTASTIC and amazing to the senses. Anyone seen it yet?

Just got back from seeing it myself...

FANTASTIC indeed and amazing to the senses is EXACTLY how I would put it. And it's a movie you really HAVE to see in theatres to get the full experience.

I had some idiots in the row behind me talking through the movie, so I got mad, blew up and told them to "shut the ** up". They did. :D

I've got a long fuse, but loud talking and guffawing during a movie burns through it rather quickly. ;)

What's with disrepectful people in the theatres? Luckily, I have come across that lately (remembers a cying baby in "Lord of the Rings"...).

I hope I'm not spoiling this for anyone who hasn't seen it yet...but I got confused during the part where Jake first meets the tribal leaders and introduces himself. They converse in English. Did the Navi know he's human using a navi avatar?

SSSSH *covers eyes* GOING TO SEE IT BACK IN CANADA ON WEDNESDAY!

Just got home from seeing it in IMAX 3D!

At first I wasn't keen on seeing it, but my husband talked me into it. He had seen it already with his friends on Friday and wanted so badly to see it again!

It was sooooo worth the $15 ticket!

Watching it at home when it comes out on DVD just won't be the same!

My husband wants a bigger TV now* rolls eyes*

I have a sensitive stomach so some of the scenes I got a bit queasy with the 3D but there wasn't too many! Like the flying twirling action scenes!

I wasn't so much venting about the show thing, I'm just dissapointed about it

And this is a weird question, quite off topic and fitting for this section... on my desktop I had firefox and it would underline my spelling mistakes with red, but my netbook doesnt. Is this something I have to download/enable?

Tools >>> Options>>>>Advanced >> make sure the box is checked by "check my spelling as I type"

Well, if they're not the old school 3D glasses, I might change my mind.

the 3d glasses now look just like regular glasses .. my hubby wears glasses and he doesn't have a problem with them...

I'm using spoiler tags, because I TOTALLY understand Sprailenes not wanting to know a single thing about the movie before she sees it. I'm the same way with movies!

The Navi didn't know that the "Sky People" were planning on doing anything negative. Remember that the only people they had seen before were peaceful scientists -- Grace's crew. Jake Sully was the first person the military had put into an avatar. So his betrayal was that he KNEW that the tree of souls was going to be blown up whether the Navi co-operated or not. The other avatars were for people studying the Navi, but Jake was actually infiltrating them to learn about their weaknesses for military purposes.

For those of you who just see a big black blob above, just assume that I'm saying something smart and profound. Thanks.
