I just sold about $200 worth of Sailor Moon collectables and toys to a local girl for $50 because I couldn't justify the space it would take in Ben's truck when I moved.

*sniff*

Definitely still kept my DVDs.

/nerd

I have like 14 anime figures at home, I could never part with them :P

(They cost like 1200 ish all together or so)

My mom's sending them down eventually.

You win, haha.

Mine was nostalgia more than anything. I've had those things for over a decade and all but the dolls themselves were well used.

I even kept the boxes.

I'm kinda ####### about it.

I figure maybe one day I want to sell them, and a few of them might be rare later in life.

Who knows.

Don't blame you there. A lot of that, I'm sure, will have value in a couple of years.

I was just too much of a child to preserve any of that stuff properly.

At least you know they've gone to someone who will enjoy them as well :) .

As a deal finder, you can find REALLY good prices down south. Even between Old Navy here in BC and Old Navy in the US is 3-4$ price difference an item. Cars are another example in price differences.

You're also talkin' to someone who lived in Florida for 16 years, then Seattle for 5. Seattle is a heck of a lot more expensive compared to Florida, and BC is more expensive than Seattle.

I was just referring to clothes not being very different in prices, but you're right about prices in the south and cars. Hubby and I bought a new 2009 Honda Accord for $28K--the same car would have cost $32K in Vancouver!

The first 'down south' meant Seattle. :P Not the south. We don't buy clothes in Vancouver for a reason - they're cheaper to buy in Seattle.

Yeah it's weird and different all across the country. The vehicle we bought in Florida is the same price here in Calgary

Oddly enough, board games are generally more expensive down there than up here though...one of the anomalies I've come across.

I noticed that too! I was puzzled (lol) and shocked.

Oh good. Glad I'm not the only one who noticed!

I've been on a real board game kick lately though, largely owing to Parker Bros. / Kellogg's recent promotion that has $10 coupons for board games inside boxes of Rice Krispies and Frosted Flakes etc. I've actually bought five board games over the past three weeks, using those coupons... I'm not even a coupon kinda guy...but $10, no questions asked? That's a VERY good coupon! Superstore had Clue on for $12 a few weeks ago, which means I got it for around $2.50, thanks to the coupon. Toys R Us had Scrabble on for the same price yesterday which again was only $2.50 after the coupon. Pictionary, Boggle and Scattergories have also been purchased on the cheap cheap...

Maybe I need help?

Holy! I had no idea there were board game coupons in the Rice Krispies. Maybe it's time to make squares.

I love board games. Unfortunately, I bequeathed all mine to the kids when I left Canada, so I've had to start rebuilding. It never occurred to me that they'd be more expensive here. My daughter took pity on me and replaced my Super Scrabble.

Yay for scrabble!

Good morning - the snow - there is lots of it, well drifts anyway. My Husband has to go out today, if for no other reason that to get cat food. I will be staying inside!
