I'm so proud of my son!!!! He is student of the month!!!! My little guy is only 6 and in kindergarden....not bad for a new Country and school!!!! I am so proud, cause when he started school and found out about being a "sparkler' (that's what they call it), he said 'mommy, I want to be a Sparkler, and i'm gonna do it'...well 3 months in and he did it!!!! They have an assembly on Friday, and I get to go see him get a plaque and a badge.... I am so proud, because when we were in canada, he had already did a year of kindergarden (he had to do it over cause he does not meet the age requirement in the US)...he used to go to school, and used to say he hated school everyday...I worried cause I thought he would be one of those kids growing up, who never really takes to school....

Well this year, they have all these great reward programs at his school, that really keep him motivated.... I picked him up today and he came running up to me and said 'I'M A SPARKLER!!!' I started crying from joy!!!!

I promised him a reward if he did it...so I took my little man to Target after school and he picked out a new DS game...I let him play his little game system during the week for like 10 mins here and there if he finishes his homework....he got so excited...

I am so proud to see him growing...I can't believe he is already 6 years old...he truly is my best friend :) Besides my husband lol...he's at an age now that we hang out and it's so enjoyable to interact with him...because he's an only child...he really relies on my hanging out with him outside of school...every night he's got me painting, making books, singing rock concerts...making forts or playing secret agents....I have so much fun reliving my youth with him :) He really is adjusting well and I'm so happy for that.

I'm such a proud mommy today :)

Aww, congrats to your son, Mommy! It's good to see the school motivating the kids. :) I was showing my husband the various elementary school awards I got and he was surprised because he never got anything like that.

Thanks guys :)

I agree, his last school didn't do anything like this.

This school has a program called 'Tiger Tickets' and when they do good deeds, they accumulate tickets that they can cash in for rewards. They also do a color card system for well behaviour...my son would come home each day and say 'I got purple today...or so and so was bad and got red' so I learned the colors and each day, ask him where he is at...it's so cute...and some of the prizes are funny...if the whole class gets a ton of tickets, they get to tape their teacher to the wall lol...

It has really motivated him to be well behaved, and I like the fact that they put the kids in control of how well they do and are recognized for it.

I don't remember that type of stuff growing up.

There are some bad seeds in his class, and some days i feel bad, cause he says that one of the 'bad kids' stole his beaded necklace he made etc...and he cried :( But I know his teacher is good and does not tolerate it and reprimends bad behaviour, so I try to not get involved... my son can be very sensitive...part of being raised from an overprotective single mom for a few years...so I try to let him settle his own battles...kinda toughen him up a bit...I'm happy to have my husband around now full time versus the long distance dating...cause having a male figure around all the time helps too. He really respects him...my husband is more tough love and i'm the mush...so it balances out lol...

Okay so we managed to crack the first laugh about the boat today. Initially I wanted to rename the boat something retarded like Hootie McBoob. Chris was against it. So tonight, Chris says "do you know how stupid we'd sound if the news was saying crew of the Hootie McBoob located after 2 days at sea".

I so never thought of taking that into consideration when choosing a name for a boat! My all-time favourite name for a boat was the one I saw in Toronto Harbour...... Quasi Boato.

Good morning everyone. I have a doctor's appointment today. :(

Hello all!

Poprocks, your mom pride is pretty gorgeous! Nice thing to see!

Hey T.M. and Krikit..

Guys? I think I may have finished my xmas shopping!!!!! Not. Even. Kidding. I did it all online ( I hate malls and I hate crowds) and it's easier for me to get it all shipped to the U.S. instead of having to lug it all down.

Just a few little things to get and I am DONE!!!

Thank god...

:D

Wanna wrap my stuff for me, Peach?
