Good morning everyone! I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving and safe travels. We got home last night. Traffic was pretty heavy, but the weather cooperated. I hate now that everything is rush, rush, rush in an attempt to get ready now for Christmas!

I saw this, and thought it was hilarious. Something to laugh about with your morning coffee. Enjoy!

Whew! Back after a wonderful long Thanksgiving weekend in Buffalo with my in-laws.

It was a wonderful weekend, but I very nearly missed my flight out of Hamilton last night, thanks to all the Ontarians bringing their Black Friday goodies across the border. An hour and a half wait at the border! My father in law was very good about it all. I arrived at the Hamilton airport ten minutes before my flight was set to take off. I was SO fortunate though, as the flight had been delayed by about 45 minutes. Phew! So I made it in time. Unfortunately, the delay meant that I didn't get in to Vancouver until after eleven, and I was worried about missing the last rapid transit train out to where I was parked in Burnaby. Again, I JUST made it, catching the second to last train (i.e.: four minutes to spare!).

All in all, I'm not exactly happy to be back here...but by the same token, I'm glad I'm HERE and not stuck in a hotel or tiny airport, waiting for a flight...

It was quite tough parting from my wife yesterday though. She drove back to D.C. a little before I left for Hamilton...and seeing her walk out to her car and drive away...damn. :( Some times are easier than others, and yesterday was NOT one of those times. Ah well. I'm fortunate in a way, as I get to see her again at Christmas, even if it's only for three days.

As usual, I'm just hoping beyond hope that I get an interview letter in the next few weeks. January is fine by me. Even February. I just want to have that date! I need something to focus on...

Okay. Wyatt's Torch out!

Wow. That's a lot of travelling luck for you, Wyatt!

Yeah...not as bad as other times though, when I've flown from D.C. to Seattle, including layover, then having to drive from Seattle to Vancouver late at night (while feeling three hours ahead!). This was just more a hassle than anything. Very uncomfortable flight, too. Not sure why...

Sorry you had to say goodbye again. :( But you're another day closer to being with her again. :)

In theory. :P

Nah, you're right of course. I always think that way too. My wife probably wants to shoot me sometimes when I say "Only 24 more days till we're together again!" etc.

We just found out today that one of my fiance's friends is getting married next May.

Which is pretty cool, he's the 2nd one in the set of Matt's friends that's getting married. Us being the first, haha.

Yeah. We did the Orlando-to-Seattle-via-Denver-then-drive-to-Vancouver run this summer, so I hear you. I could have done without the layover in Nashville on the way back, though. (My husband wasn't with me.... he had to leave early on business.) Nashville airport is every bit of horrendous that you dream it could be.

We did drive to Seattle from Vancouver to Dallas, to miss our flight and have to stay there, to be in Orlando the next morning. On the way back, we would've missed our flight again in Dallas, but American transferred us to Alaska so we did Orlando - Seattle - drive to Vancouver at 12am after getting our car jumped because a light stayed on.

Montreal: BEAT!!! Approved!!!!!

I just read that a Canadian comedian named Mary Walsh who is on the show This Hour Has 22 Minutes showed up to a Sarah Palin book signing. She showed up in character and was baiting Palin. True to form, Palin showed how really stupid she is.

"I just wanted to ask you if you have any words of encouragement for Canadian conservatives who have worked so hard to try to diminish the kind of socialized medicine we have up there." Walsh shouted to Palin as she approached the table.

Palin's handlers tried to help her by ushering Walsh out of the Borders, but Palin could not be deterred. When Palin left the signing, Walsh caught up with her in the parking lot, where Palin suggested that Canada should get rid of its public health care system. "Keep the faith" Palin said, "because common sense conservatism can be plugged in there in Canada too. In fact, Canada needs to reform its health care system and let the private sector take over some of what the government has absorbed."
