I have an interview date for citizenship! August 13 at 1:05 pm. I don't know if I will be able to do same day oath or not - apparently either the oath ceremonies take place at 2 pm or the cut off for the oath ceremonies is at 2 pm and the ceremony at 3 - don't remember which. Regardless, now I feel like I am moving forward again.

Hey that's great Kathryn, should be very interesting!

Awesome! Congrats!

I've always wondered... Do we have to take one of those citizenship tests?

You don't have to take the citizenship test - that is only if you decide to pursue US citizenship. You can remain a Permanent Resident if you wish and just keep renewing your green card every 10 years.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

If he has a high enough security clearance, one should NOT be talking about it online!!

true :) We don't really know anything about Carla - except what they eat for dinner daily and when she files her immigration paperwork and that She and Gene enjoy coffee every morning - otehr then that - she's practically a stranger!

Kathryn...at long last! Congratulations to you. Let us know how things go. (F)

Good morning everyone. Other than one Motrin before I went to the oral surgeon and another at suppertime, I'm doing pretty good as far as pain goes after yesterday's ordeal. The worse part seems to be the gum area where the needles went in! No solid food of course, but I had some orzo with parmesean for supper last night as I was starved. Today I'm still going to take it easy and hope I'm able to eat something more substantial if not tonight, then tomorrow.

Enjoy your day!

Ew. Sorry about your headache, Trailmix. Maybe you're dehydrated?

Good to hear you're doing well, Carla. Ugh. I hate going to the dentist. :(

Whoooooooo! That is awesome. Congratulations, Kathryn. It's nice that you finally got a process which doesn't take years to complete. icon2.gif Can't wait to hear all about it.

Good morning all - glad to hear you are doing good today Carla!

I woke up with a great headache - which is very unusual for me, I don't normally get them - but oh well!

Awwww I's sowwy for you! I don't normally get them either...maybe one or two a year. I usually just take something and they're gone in 15 minutes or so. Hope you're feeling better soon.

No, no definately not!!

It's interesting, they are holding American Idol auditions in Orlando today, so it's on the news, which I normally do not watch but I spotted this. It is amazing how many people show up for these auditions. You have to have a lot of nerve to get up in front of people and sing.

Actually just looked it up, this is just a registration day - Thursday they have auditions - krikit if you are going to enter you need to get down there today or tomorrow!

I'm the same as you guys. Very rarely get headaches. But I find Advil LiquiGels amazing. OMG, that's what I would take with me to a desert island. But, yeah.... I've had coffee withdrawal headaches before. They are BRUTAL. I was addicted to Tim Horton's then went on a road trip to the US, where I couldn't find any good coffee to save my life. Especially on the highway. LOL This was before Starbucks, btw. Now you're fairly safe going on a roadtrip.

I thought you were coming with me??!! Let me find my spandex.

But, yeah. Saw that on the news this morning also. You have to be really good or really crazy to sit out there in that parking lot in this kind of weather. But I love watching the audition shows. They're hilarious. I've been watching the America's Got Talent audition shows and they've been awesome. I even talk to the TV and the judges!! There was one young family who made me bawl my eyes out last week. Honest to God, I was nearly sobbing. :o:blush:

Spandex

Yeah some of those shows are really good, I didn't even know that America's got talent had a new season on! I've kind of been stuck on the food channel and bravo - the small tv by the computer doesn't have a digital connection, so no guide, so I just stay with 2 channels.

Has anyone seen the show on BBC America - The Hotel Inspector? It's pretty good.
