Good morning peeps! Hope everyone had a great weekend! We had gorgeous weather, and spent the last 5 days that Gene was off enjoying the outdoors. Lots of backyard fires in the fireplace, raking leaves, enjoying the sunshine! Now, back to rain... *sigh*

Good morning, Carla. :) I love backyard fires.

Today I plan on watching the space shuttle launch at 2:28pm. Also a bit of grocery shopping. And maybe some gardening.

Ooooooh, I love watching the launches :) Do you watch it online? I'd need somewhere to stream it from - we open at 2:30, but the high schoolers don't usually wander in until 3 or so (I run a youth center)

No.... I just go outside my door and look east. LOL.

They'll probably have it streaming on either NASA - Kennedy Space Center or the local news channel WESH Orlando.

@peachey.... go home, girl! Take a sick Benalyn day! I love those TV ads. My co worker called in sick and my boss is sick! Woohoo... chances of me getting sick? Pretty high.

And anyone... anyone at all have any feedback on netbooks? I saw a thread on here yesterday and responded but it's since been lost in other chats. I just want to know if anyone has one/what they think of

it and any and all feedback. Husband got me one for our anniversary and I'm so excited! I just wanted something to sit on the couch and surf with, chat with, watch a movie on and stuff... I only have a desktop now and I work at an office all day and sometiems I dont' want to sit in front of a computer . I want to lay in my bed or on the couch with it!

;)

Thanks guys...

I love watching the launches as well. Only online or TV for this Canadian girl still in Canada. To be honest, I love anything to do with space and the universe -- I still have a crush on Carl Sagan...

;)

Lucky!!! Thanks for the links :)

I know! I really am. :luv: I love watching the shuttle launches.

Krikit - I'm envious - I could go outside and look south but all I would see is air traffic to-ing and fro-ing at Hartsfield Jackson Airport. I've visited the Space Center but it would be great to just step outside and see the space shuttle launch!

lgg - my husband has a Samsung net book and he loves it. He also bought an ASUS netbook (he's into 'gadgets' in a big way as well as being a computer geek - and proud of it, hehehe) when they first came out but that one also has the small keyboard and he did find that more difficult to use. He would hook a regular keyboard up to it (and bought one of the roll-up keyboards to use with it when he went out). The Samsung has almost a full sized keyboard and it works great. While he has other computers (as I said, he loves 'gadgets') he basically uses the netbook as his main computer for basic daily stuff now. He sometimes hooks it in to a full sized monitor if he needs to see the screen more clearly. He takes it with him when we go to Barnes & Noble for coffee and actually price shops on line to see if a book he is interested in is cheaper at B&N with his discount or on Amazon! Hehehe - I am sure you will enjoy yours very much.

OH thanks for the response, Krikit, you just backed up my perception of how it'll be for me! SO excited now. The one husband got me as a 92% full size keyboard and well, it sounds great. Thanks for that -- exactly the feedback I was looking for!

Woohoo!

:)

WE ARE GOING TO TORONTO THIS WEEKEND!!!!

I left a few things when i moved to the US so we wanted to go get them and see our old friends! We wanted to go before the snow arrives so we decided on this weekend.

My former roommate is throwing a party and everybody will be there.

Well it's 6 hours of driving but it's worth it. Plus we book a the sheraton downtown (4-star hotel) on hotwire for half the normal price. Can't complain.

First use of the green card.......
