Nice to hear, Colleens!

On a completely unrelated note... I just stumbled across the "Site Related Discussion" forum and I see that tons of folks are up in arms about the moderators here. I've only been an active poster at this site for a month, but it totally blows me away that there are legions of VJers unhappy with the mods! I haven't even noticed any bad moderation here, let alone seen it as a major problem...

Well I don't really think there are legions - but, to get perspective - how many threads have you reported Wyatt? Any? Ever? Ever reported a person here?

It's true...I never have, but then again, I've never seen a need to.

I was a moderator for a few years at a fairly high profile Professional Audio forum...and I tell you, there was a LOT to moderate there. Here? Well, I don't see much, but then again I don't go through all of the forums...mainly just the CR-1 forums, this one, and very occasionally the off-topic forum. The latter of which has its fair share of extremism, but I kinda follow the "don't like it, don't read it" philosophy.

Yes, and I don't doubt there are threads or people here who need to be reported - someone makes a racist remark - someone personally attacking a VJ member, that kind of thing.

You just described 95% of the discussion in OT.

:D It's actually more like a small but very vocal minority . . . you'll see the same names over and over again.

And thanks for the nice comment about the moderation (your cheque is in the mail! ).

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I was reading a certain thread this afternoon and was very impressed on your moderation skills, so kudos! The only people who get upset with the mods are people who aren't following the rules, are to scared to break the rules, or have a misguided idea that they are allowed to say what they want when they want and it should be tolerated by all.

On a lighter note, I have a hilarious story for you all.

Bill and I were at the Avalanche/Canucks game tonight (lets not talk about the score...) and I encountered some funny Americans. We were going up the escalator at the Pepsi center and there was a group of 20 something guys standing behind us. Suddenly one of the guys says to his friends, completely randomly, "I wonder if they have escalators in Canada..." to which his friend replied, "I don't know..." I should have turned around and replied, but instead I just burst out into laughter. They either thought I was crazy or realized I was laughing at them. Either way they took off in the other direction when we got to the top :P

I saw parts of the game, looks like Darcy Tucker is right at home with the Avs. In Canada we don't have escalators only weapons of mass consumption. They are called Timbits.

Is this a bad time to mention I wear a #16 Tucker jersey? :P He played... ok. He got a couple chances in the 3rd but just chances, nothing more. The most interesting thing is when he took his helmet off and I got to see his flowy hair ;)

Bill told me I should have told the that we have escalators but they are powered by a complicated system of beavers turning wheels :P

We're going to see Honokaa Boy tomorrow in town. I just found the trailer, it makes our home town of Honokaa look so quaint. Fortunately the movie is supposed to have English subtitles as my Japanese is limited to counting to 5.

Looks like a nice place to me. My Japanese consists of counting to ten, not that it helps any.

Oh, let's talk about the score. Please let's! :P

Hey, let me gloat for at least a moment. My Canucks have been ravaged by injuries this year and they needed a good rout to boost their confidence.

Colorado is a good team his year. I've always been something of a contradiction in terms, as I'm a big Canucks fan, but also quite like the Avs. There used to be such a huge rivalry until Bertuzzi punched Moore...

I miss those days. Those were some great games, even though the Avs usually got the better of the 'Nucks.

Greetings. My husband and I just came back from spending a few days at the beach to celebrate our anniversary. I had a couple of free use-em-or-lose-em nights with the Marriott so we booked a lovely place down in the Sarasota Bradenton area. When we got there they had upgraded us to a suite with a fabulous view. We had also booked massages using the wayspa.com gift certificate my daughter had given us last Christmas, so it was basically a free trip for us! Ohmygosh, we had such a wonderful time. We now know where we want to retire! Lido Key near St Armand's Circle. I almost can't wait.
