Good morning everyone! I had a busy day yesterday. I'm going to be involved in training new volunteers in my volunteer work now, so I had to go over the training materials with my supervisor. The first training is next week. This is exciting! In the same vein, I'm been voted onto the National Board now with my job, so I'm looking forward to some excitement regarding new legislation and ongoing professional training.

Happy belated Birthday Peachey! (F) Good luck at your interview J&K! (F)

Enjoy your day!

I have a job interview tomorrow!!! :D

It's part time for a pro shop at the arena where I play and where the Washington Capitals practice (Kettler for those who live around there)

It was funny...I had a game on Saturday, and John wanted to try on some shoulder pads. Another fellow was there doing the same thing and asked John "can I ask you some new guy hockey questions?" in which John said, 'You'd better ask her!'

Helped the guy out and said, you should work here!

So I asked if they were hiring and they were...so I applied and got an email today for an interview tomorrow! Yippee!

 I told one the guys working there...I've been playing for 24 years, and I'm Canadian. He said "That's perfect! I'd hire you"

Way to Go!! Hope it all goes well for you!!

Happy birthday to me! Hehe.

I'm spending the afternoon writing out my thank you cards for the gifts from my shower yesterday.

Happy belated birthday!!! Hope you did more than just fill out thank you cards!! :)

In the past 2 weeks we have received 3 phone calls at work from people.. not an organization - PEOPLE. Asking for financial assistance. It's super strange. They all say they have kids, they would like us to give them money for Christmas and thanksgiving.

The one I just talked to said he is going through the phone book... sooo strange. It's like upscale panhandling.

I think it is LAZY panhandling. It can't be nearly as effective as doing it in person. In person, it is harder to say no because you can see and feel their plight. On the phone, people are bolder and have no real understanding of their situation. For all I know, you're just lazy.

It is weird. I wouldn't trust sending my money to some random stranger. Besides even though we're a private country club, we're non-profit and member owned. Good luck getting a dime out of these people - they're rich for a reason.

This totally makes my day every single time I watch it.

It may have some not so harsh language, no swear words though. Nothing insulting.

on a survey site I am a part of I finally got enough points to get two free movie tickets... so I plan on using them to see that Scrooge movie with Jim Carrey next week... I know it seems silly but I am excited to see it :D of course we are going to see it in 3D

also our local theater is putting on a production of The Christmas Carol in December.. they did last year too but by the time I found out, the tickets were already sold out.. so I am excited about going to that too... :D

Bro' had a more upscale call. Rep. Price's (R-GA) office wanted him to be on some healthcare committee. The catch? Donate $300 so he can get his name published in the paper as supporting some Republican health plan to do God knows what. Bro' who is nowhere near GA and supports universal healthcare, politely declined.
